I didn't realize those models were that large. Somehow I thought the robots were a little smaller.

I think, while your painting looks nice, there is too much model on the stands. maybe put only 4 on there next time?

THe yellow in the camera is due to improper white point settings. You might have moved it off automatic onto another setting like florescent.

Really like the praetorians, but i agree that less is more base wise, id prefer 4 or even just 3 per base.

What I think I'll do then is continue to paint the 4 other stands that I've already based. Then when I get a chance (which probably wont be until next month now) I'll set about knocking together some custom 4 hole bases and transfer 24 of the painted minis onto 6 stands of 4 each.

Will it look weird though if every other infantry stand is 5 to a base?

It shouldn't. I'm running my praetorians at 3 to a 20x40mm base and it looks fine with the other infantry.

Ok so move is complete, I've unearthed my models, all thats left to do is to catch up on almost an entire month of painting .

So on the table for October is to finish off the reminaing 4 stands of praetorians, a gorgon to lugg them around, 2 thunderbolts for zippy air fun (plus a break from the colour scheme), 3 Ordinatus Minoris with generic guns and a fuel processing plant objective / scenery. Plus painting the new house and plugging leaks in a bodged plumbing system. All in 26 days.

Looks like I'm going to need a montage, cue Rocky theme music!!!

Ok so final few minutes of October and time I posted an update.

Well I fell miserably short of catching up on my backlog this month, managing to churn out a whopping 4 stands of infantry, still this completes my praetorian squad and the gorgon transport is 50% of the way there as well. The praetorians will likely be rebased at some point but I've had no time to make custom bases so they'll stay on the slightly crowded ones they have now, I kind of like the wall of metal death effect anyways.

To bring myself back up to speed I've finised off an Ordinatus Majoris I had knocking around half painted, although not in my orignal plan this brings me up to 800 pts this month which is respectable I feel.

Things have calmed down a bit now so I'm hopeful for a fruitful November

Thanks, they're actually exodus wars khazzari war droids mixed with some Kev101 specials.

I did want to remodel the wardroids a lot, giving some of them different weapons, maybe shoulder mount a few but I just didn't have time. I've still got plenty left though so will doubtless end up doing this. I've also used the tracks from one as a base for my supreme commander conversion, I jut need some tiny servo arms to finish it off.
