I always thought of them as being human, but admittedly, I never really fleshed out a true backstory for the scifi line. Originally I was thinking of something like 3 human-ish factions, all representing different views on the role of technology and genetic manipulation. The Lizard-Riders, who use genetic manipulation to live in harmony with nature and eschew mechanical forms of locomotion for living creatures. They will, however, still use some technology. The Foundationists, who loathe genetic manipulation and will tolerate only "natural" humans. They rely technology alone.

I wanted the third faction to be something like a borg-esque thing, masters of human genetic manipulation and the melding of technology with living forms.

All that being said, you could really conceive of them anyway you want, they are not really married to any background.

Humans, Elves, Klingons, Romulans, etc., etc. ... it's all good !!!

They are actually still in the process of being sculpted, though I feel like it won't be too long before they are finished. I'll post the finished pics as soon as they are done.

As for release...It depends on how well my next fantasy release goes. Ideally I would like to have them and the rest of the Foundationist vehicles out for the holidays, but I may have to push them to as late as January.
