OTTER APC/IFV Proto-Types ...

So, let us explore the solution space a little bit.

Is this closer to what you had in mind? I added a block to the forward left and scooched the turret forward.

I'm not committing to this alteration, but there is the possibility of having multiple chassis variants.

Something I was hoping to resolve with the test paint is the question, "Are the weapons too small?" I'm happy with the freemer version, since it is fairly close to existing metal. The microwave cooker, flamer, and spewer are different issues.

My intuition is that they should be embiggened for better identification. Here is a comparison picture; the yellow version is what L-4 has painted up.

well, the yellow block looks right, although the turret has scooched forwards a bit too far for what i was thinking, makes the overhang at the front look odd. or maybe change the angle of the front slope a bit.
if you stretched the top hatch so that it ended at the halfway point of the 4th viewing port, instead of the third, and pushed the turret back so that it sat just slightly forwards of the hatch?

i didnt think that the weapons themselves needed biggening, but looking at those comparisons, i think that looks good.

I don't know which size gun best represents the microwave gun on the tabletop, but the embiggened gun look like it would be useful for other purposes.

It looks like, if you snipped off the gun barrle where the diameter reduces just past the ends of the recoil cylinders, you'd have an instant chimedon conversion.

From looking at the turrets you sent I would say go with the biggie sized barrels.

Yes, I was thinking that an autocannon might be nice.

Additionally, the concept of an alternate freemer turret, based on an older turret style, has its appeal. But how to manage such inventory? Cursed and blessed feature creep...

I didn't think the autocannon need biggie-sizing, just the cooker etc. I tend to use the old E40k Flakwagon guns as autocannons. The hatch placement works though, I like it.

I'd say go with the older turret design for all of them.

The autocannon is a design proved out on other bronzes, so it's good.

I guess I'll do another round of prototypes for the type B hull, embiggened microwave cooker, and autocannon.

Oh yeah, I forgot we were talking about APCs and IFVs. :D

Yeah ... an APC is better than riding on the back of a Tank ... but sometimes ... not much ... ;D

PrintAPart won't be fabbing the new APC stuff until the 8th... even though I submitted the order a week ago.
