Help!
Is there any way to disable the automatic subscription to threads you start or reply to? I keep having to unsubscribe from everything, and it is a pretty arse-about-face way of doing things! Much better to turn the default off, and let folks subscribe to a thread if they want to.
The current setup is driving me crazy by filling my email inbox.

It's buried in your user controls somewhere.
Apparently, if you turn the option off, no one can subscribe to threads ever. Which is arguably worse.

Board preferences > Edit posting defaults > Notify me upon replies by default
(Overview > Manage Subscriptions; also useful)
