I got the cork sheets at Michaels, an arts and crafts store, for around $5. They're 1/32" thick, I measured the FoW bases and cut strips of it to length then cut the strips up into the separate pieces by width. To round the corners I got some craft scissors ($2) that cut in a wavy line and just lined each corner up to cut it at a quarter circle.

I didn't get a whole lot done last week (most of my Monday was spent building a Battle Barge) so I skipped the update. Here's what I managed this week though.

My objectives, nearly finished for NEAT tomorrow. I wanted to use some brass mesh to make camo netting for the ammo store but the Michaels I went to didn't have any. :P As it stands it's kind of plain but it will do for tomorrow. The Damocles radar was built with plastic card (14 pieces I think 8) ). I'm not too happy with the free handing for the radar dish recessions. I'll probably print out a decal for it instead when I do the Land Raider door ones.

Here we have my project from last week. Holy crap this thing took a long time to build. And I still haven't got primer covering everything. I hoping to finish this guy up for the end of July.
Image

I realized I didn't have any librarian characters, so I put together two real quick last night.
Image

Finally, some shots of Command Horizon's human troopers (standing and kneeling). These guys haven't got too much coverage on here so I figured some people might be interested to see how they scale to other models.

They're 6.5-7mm tall from helmet to boot and carry a fairly compact looking rifle. No 6mm lasguns for these guys.

Dave,
I think the objectives look very cool and well painted, I like the idea of the radar on the rhino, You mentioned in your post about printing emblems!
Is this done on special sticky paper, etc, I have no idea about printing these and would be interested to see how its done and what the results look like,

Regards epic

I got some Testors decal paper that I plan to use. Once I design them I'll print them out, spray them with a sealant and apply to the model. Hopefully I'll get to all that sometime this summer.

love the stuff looking forward to see more from you.

Can I ask you why you have the characters on those little bases? do you just use one of those for your bases for the characters or what. they look good just wondering.

I got some work done on the Battle Barge, and assembled and primed 7 more stands of the Command Horizon troops. I forget to grab pictures of them though before I came down to CT. I should be able to snap some Monday night though when I get back.

I did get a picture of these guys though, which I just finished up. They're Matt's birthday present (if you read this before you get them Matt just act surprised). I managed to build and paint 5 tanks in 5 days, which I believe is sort of a record for me. So anyway, happy birthday Matt from me and Arklite (the supplier of the 6th turret).

Didn't manage to make it to last week's painting night due to the holiday but I still got a few things done throughout the week.

I finished the dry brushing, black detailing and wash for the Battle Barge. Now begins the touch-up and detail stages.
Image

I also finished my Apothecary and Standard bearer. The Techmarines and Librarians I'm hoping to finish this week finally.
Image

Also, here's the Command Horizon infantry I put together and primed two weeks ago that I never got a chance to take pictures of.
Image

I tried a test scheme for my infantry and APC. It was pretty simple and I'm happy enough with it, what do you guys think? I'm still not impressed with woodland scenics stuff on bases, I think I'm finally going to break down and get some Silfor grass tufts.
