The Slaughterfiends are starting to get base coats.

I am reviewing how I want the bikes to be based - I may even do two units and have both types - undecided at this time

In the meantime I decided to start looking at a Daemon Prince unit.

Here is the Daemon prince I am looking at using. He is from Eureka Miniatures and is actually the standard bearer who I am going to modify

Here he is in scale to Berserkers:

I am going to place Chain Axes in both his hands.

The below shows an Axe extra from Eureka Miniatures and an Epic Minotuar:

I replaced the top of the axe with the minotaur axe (I actually pinned it on!):

After it dries I will attack it with greenstuff to square out the head (making it a bit more modern) and then placing chain teeth on the axe.

After all that I will look to cut it down to fit on the model.

Fun fun fun!

Hi

Nice fit.Not too big,not too small. Are you gonna paint him in keeping with the other WE's or go for a brass look ?
I think maybe a white and blue look suggesting he ascended aons ago...

Not a bad idea indeed.

I am currently spending far too much time on his helmet getting it into a Khornate Berserker Shape (Khorne Symbol). I am almost there and I will get some pics up when I am happy with it.

I have also just finished the first axe.

I may go buy the mini again. That way I can do another one as suggested with the blue and white (maybe with a tinge of red). I am having fun with him currently but he is taking far too long.

I have a very deep appreciation for the skill of all our green-stuff sculptors out there. They really have some talent based on the troubles I am having just trying to place wings on a helmet. Bit by bit I guess rather than all at one time. Trouble is, that leaves things unfinished and I go nuts just looking at it without trying to fix it. Time for bed nows anyway. I will try to even it out tomorrow after the other greenstuff drys a bit.

Thanks for looking and for the ideas.

The camera brings it much closer making it look messy. The actual model however (to the eye) is actually quite clean.

Please be mindful that I am only a beginner at greenstuff and this is 6mm & 10mm miniatures - so be kind ;)

So this is how it is coming so far. Once I get the axes on and undercoat it, the green will obviously not stick out so much. Both hands have been drilled and are currently holding pins for when I attach the two sides of the axes.

Here is the Daemonic Chain Axe I am working on. At first I scratched the Khorne symbol into the axe. Then I thought I would give a raised symbol a go. It is not as visible in the pic but it is on the axe itself, and when it is painted, it will stand out for sure:

Any hints on how to make greenstuff work better for me? I am already using saliva and water with tools I bought through the Heresy site. Anything else I should know other than practice, practice practice?

Awww... It's a daemonic Mickey Mouse!

Seriously though, great work. The axe is amazingly detailed for the scale.

I am still going with these.

I could not help myself. I just couldn't not have a winged and normal version. Once I get the axes for the winged Prince done, I will paint them both up together to get more consistency between them.

With TOEG2010 going I have really allowed this thread to fall behind.

From now on I will show development and final pieces here and only place finished pieces on the TOEG thread.

So just to catch up:

Here are the five Berserker bases completed:

Image

Here is the comparrison shot of the two types (variants) of berserker stands I have painted.

Image

At present the one on the right are my Khorne Berserkers. When I get enough stands painted up (24 to be exact), they will be my World Eater Legionaires and the 'all reds' will be my Khorne Berserkers.

Terminators:

I cut off the ammo strips and placed blades under-slinging the bolters. I may greenstuff some of these to be chainblades.
Image

And a closer look. I used some Dark Eldar spikes that just happened to be lying around from a Blood Bowl project from last year
Image

Here are some of the longer barreled guns, some of which may also end up with some blades
Image

and finally the Arnie amigos who love to cut the grass with their guns (what me hide? har har har. get outta that grass!)

Daemon Princes:

Almost at a point of being primed. Identical poses with weapons and representing the winged and non-winged versions.

Just a little more greenstuff and I will start to plan for their own bases
