I'm afraid that I agree with zap. I really don't need to see any kind of simulation. I've been playing the game for as long as primarch and in all that time I've never had any issue with not being able to damage/destroy the VSGs on the units that don't actually have them listed in their damage tables. My experience has been than on anything smaller than a Warlord, when the shields go down, that unit is almost always dead that same turn.

I don't see anything as broken and I don't think it needs fixing and I've voted as such in the appropriate poll.

To clarify:

Primarch is the head honcho
Zap has final say on rules (it is always tough in these discussions, but someone has to have a final say or arguments can drag on forever, stalling the project)
I just goof around with the layout, and don't really have any strong opinions regarding the rules themselves. ;)

I don't want to shoot the idea of reavers with Void Shield hit locations down, but since the majority feels the Reaver is pretty balanced as it is, I think it might be a good idea to reserve hit location changes for DS' revised Titan rules. These will require some playtesting anyway, and if they turn out great, then in time the rules can be merged officially. :)


The NetEpic rules have been around in their current form for quite some time. Technically changing them to the Gold layout was just supposed to be a formality since people have had plenty of time to proofread the original text documents for years. Obviously mistakes still creep in, but really, rules changes that require playtesting should probably be reserved for an erratta/optional rules document, or we can keep rewriting the Gold books forever, and never have any kind of closure on the project :)

8) Hey guys Wazzzaaap!... :o What the!.. Ok, a few comments.

1) Mostly TL:DR ;D

2) Ifurita is not my Alt, honest. ;)

3) The Carapace location on the Warlord always bugged me, isn't it meant to be armour? So really it should be a HULL hit and not a Shield/Field/Whatever hit. Same goes for Reavers. TROLLOLOLOLOL ::) Only joking!
