ooo, now that's a good idea, would it be faster to make the back of the helmet with GS rather than having to round the plastic off each time?

it's possible, but I usually find when working with bits of GS that small it doesn't like sticking. Perhaps make a mold of the top of the head and press fit GS to superglue onto it. It could almost be carved out of the existing helmet too, but it didn't seem quite long enough at the back.

It's update time again, and here are the dreads I've been working on this week. I've got to say these are some of my least favorite of the current epic line. The proportions are really screwed up on them and the detail isn't the best nor are the poses (Everybody dance now comes to mind). All in all though, I think they turned out pretty well.

I'll be taking a break from epic for a few weeks to work on some heavy conversions of these guys larger brothers. After that I'll probably be hitting the last of the razorbacks if I don't work on them while mulling where to go on the conversions.

Mate,

As always lovely work, they are some very fine looking Dreads.

Cheers
Aaron

Vary nice, Vaaish. I'm not crazy about those Dreads either. I like the Mk I's better.

after a rather lengthy break from epic painting to convert up my first 40k dread, I'm back with a bit more of the epic marine force for Cal. This time it's the last of the razorbacks sporting a slightly different paint scheme and the first of the vindicators.

Vaaish, I was looking through some of the stuff I'll be needing pics of for the NetEpic Gold Adeptus Mechanicus book. Any chance you could send me full resolution versions of your OOP IG Dropship (one 3/4 view, maybe a side view and a few others to play around with for some CGI work) and the Knight Paladin (regular 3/4 view)? Alternatively just high res versions of the pics posted in this thread :)

Please send them to chris (at) mustangsalling.dk when you got time (I won't be working on that book for at least a month so there's plenty of time)

Sure. It might be a bit before I can get them taken with the holidays coming up and other priorities to get done before then but I'll get them shot for you.

Is there any particular Knight paladin you want?

Vaaish, your painting thread really falls in the "get inspired/give up" category. I choose to be inspired! Keep up the good work!

Thanks!
And the next batch is done:
This finishes out the whirlwinds and hunters leaving me a measly 20 rhino chassis based vehicles to go :) I'll be taking a break through the holidays to work on painting up the 40k dreadnought I converted before hitting 4 preds and 4 more vindis.

Well done, as usual. I'm looking forward to seeing a group pic.

And back to epic with some perfectly wretched photos. I attempted a new method of lighting and editing and I think it failed rather miserably. The bikes themselves I think turned out alright though one closer observation these seem to be the most detailed yet poorly cast models I've worked with especially where it counted on the exhausts and bolter barrels on the front. Next up, predators and the last gun arm for my 40k dread. Cal if you want me to take some better shots, I'll give it a go.

I guess we don't like bikes so much :) Anyhow, I'm back with another update. I finished up the predators today which leave me with 12 Vindicators until I'm officially done with the commission rhino chassis vehicles. In fact I can almost see the bottom of the box everything came in :) Hopefully this time the pics came out better too!

Enjoy; I'll be spending the rest of today finishing up to GS work on two BFG cruisers, cleaning vindicators and finishing the base coat for the TLAC dreadnought arm I'm working up.
