Love the yellow. I tend to go for a more faded yellow working up from something like Bubonic Brown or Snakebite Leather, but yours looks just brilliant.

And I still think that the SG Eldar sculpts are the best they ever did for Epic. I just love their super heavies...it's a shame they are wasted on the pointy ears.

Not exactly an update that brings anything new to the table. However I just realized that I had to paint up the firestorm chassis as well. I had hoped I could cheat for the photoshoot by mounting the turret on an already painted Fireprism chassis, but unfortunately there's some gubbins that prevents this. Looking at that chassis next to the super heavies it really illustrates the difference shading and highlighting does over a simple coat of base color.

If you don't mind me asking WMN which models are those on the right hand side of the picture?

I don't recognize the wee beasties off the top of my head.

Fantastic shading and highlighting. Almost makes me want to love painting Eldar.

I think that's a Firestorm turret and a Scorpion turret?

Void Spinner rather than a Scorpion, I think.

Yup. Void spinner. I can't help but think that if this turret was available seperately it could make an interesting light scout tank of sorts, with a bit of conversion.

Looks good, what are you using for your dark blues? I've been trying to find a good paint for that since I just can't get the right rich effect with ultramarines blue and ice blue.

I do find it a tad curious that you've chosen to make the undersides and shield structures on the falcons and wave serpents metallic given that eldar seem to use wraithbone exclusively in their construction rather than metals.

Regal blue. Then highlight it by adding white.

I believe Tom has recieved the bronze master and sent it off to the caster. I'm guessing a month or two tops.

Well I painted my first Eldar tanks more than 15 years ago. This was the tiger stripe Alaitoc camo of the GW studio army, which had the underside painted Tin Bits. I'm just a bit conservative in that regard, and haven't bothered changing the colorscheme dramatically since then :)
Actually if you look at the old cataloggues you'd find that Eldar units like titans used metallics quite extensively back then.
