I've been thinking about Ordinatus proxies recently, and it occurred to me that a tracked vehicle the size of the Mole transport would perhaps be of a suitable size for a Minor Ordinance Platform and the Hellbore transport the right size for a Major one.

I figured I'd have a go at CAD'ing up something similar, but I don't know how big to make it - could someone with access to the old mole and hellbore models post some dimensions for them please?

The Hellbore Transporter is about 3 inches/75mm from the front of the cab to the rear of the chassis. And about 1.5 inches/37mm wide ...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The Mole is down right small - The transporter is about 1.5 inches/37mm long and about 1 inch/25mm wide ...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The Mole & Termite, as you can see next to my other IG AFVs ... they are small ...

Awesome, thanks L4!

The mole transporter looks like it'll be just about the right size - watch this space

Were I designing a Minor Ordinance Platform based off the Mole transporter, I would start by making a Mole.

If I were to do that it might look a little like this:

Awesome, though I'm not sure about the Arrows along the side; they look rather non-ordered...

Indeed, I thought that too. They would seem to be a curious holdover from the old model. Any ideas for a more loyalist look?

Hmmm. Get rid of the notches. Add the octagonal extensons like on the 40k LR and Chimaera.

Thats not quite lined up, but you get the idea. They look designed to hold the road wheel axles in place.

Ooh, looking really good.
Can't wait to see what you come up with

Will friends be able to get their mitts on one or 3?  :sulk:

The mole transporter is finished, and I've started on the launch platform. Hypothetically, if i were to finish this, would there be demand for a Medium Drilling Transport?

I have a plan to make the track sides look more loyalist for the Ordinance Platform - I'll post a render when I've modified them.

Not high enough a level of detail for my tastes, sorry.

The far side in particular is very plain, hatches, engine detail, armour plates, lights etc would be good, plus things like the hinges on the hatches you do have are really thick and blocky. You could probably get away with shaving them down some.

I know its accurate to the original but, you can pick up the original cheap enough on ebay. Use the oppurtunity to really bring the design up to date and put it in line with everything else. Then I'd certainly be tempted.

Mmm, I've gotta agree with E&C and the monkey with the plasma pistol on this one... While it is a nice model and true to the original, it is under detailed when compared to the miniatures currently being produced through CAD. It definitely needs more details if you want this thing to look good.

If you want some inspiration for detailing the beast I suggest you check out the various work E&C has done on his various armour designs. Great source of inspiration there. If you could raise the detail level I'd definitely grab a few... Well, with weapons options. I don't have much need for Moles or Termites. They're all available easily enough on Ebay.
