Have you noticed that this thread is entitled your "paining" blog. I thought it was particularly apt for a chronicle of trying to paint hundreds of little men :p

Yes.

That was an oversight in missing the 'T' key and not having admin rights to change it.

You are right however, 'paining' is quite apt. There are alot more to paint. I counted the potential painting job and it reached over 10K in points, not including the other 5 formations of Berserkers (40 stands) that I want to paint up in the future.

Scary stuff indeed....

As of today however, I have finished gold-lining 16 stands of Berserkers and am onto the Black areas and teeth of the Chainswords today.

Finishing the above today will then mean a final wash (probably 20 mins work), and then I will spend the new week basing all 24 stands of berserkers. I have bought a basing paint (darker grey) for this job, so I am hoping it all works out. After that, I have 10 stands of Bloodletters ready to be gold-trimmed ready to go.

Pics or it didn't happen

Next week after I get them based. Otherwise, refer to a previous page for what they look like now   :)

The only painting I can see is the first post with the World Eater.
MORE!  :Ikonforums:

What you have done is looking great though.
As for basing, singly on round bases.

I'm in love with your infantry so far. When can we see more painted troops?

Great painting so far, frogbear, and excellent photos as well. I really have to start implementing improvement as part of my learning-photography-process. For the juggers, I would go with D. I have tried it myself, and find the FoW bases perfect for those stands that need a little bit more than the small bases. Looking forward to more.

Well I am up to the Chainsaw teeth at the moment so I will finish these tonight.

Then I have the wash to do, and then I start on the basing. This is my greatest worry as I am hoping I get it right.

Plan is for photos to go up on this weekend coming up.

Checking in...(I'll post pics in my thread early week)

4 x 5 units stands of juggers - Finished, sealer coat drying

5 x Berzerkers, 3 x Slaughterfiends, and 2 x Defilers WIP. Basically, the sand on the infantry stands drying before a black basecoat, the Defilers are awaiting their basecoat, and I'm going to GS the flail dealies on the Slaughterfiends.

Once that is done, basecoating will take place and painting will proceed. I'll take a couple of pre-paint shots of this formation as well.

Cheers,

Awesome Honda

Different units yet still the same amount of work IMO

I can't wait to start my Slaughterfiends. I am looking at Apocs for inspiration at the moment.

Get your paint thread up. It would be good to follow.   :agree:

How I love a good permissions joke.

OK. I have painted the 24 stands to a point where I have now based 21 of the stands.

Tomorrow I hope to base paint all the ones shown in the picture below. I will then use a Badab Black wash to go over the Berserkers that are a little too light for my liking. It should be stated that the minis are darker than shown in the photo.

As Berserkers can have the optional Skull Lord or even a Blood Lord or Daemon Prince, I am resreving the 8th base of each formation to have removable characters. In this respect, I do not have to use more minis and paint up extra bases that may or may not get used. Instead I will magnatise the base and have the Characters seperate and place them in the game if required. This also means I have to paint up 3 extra basic troopers yet this is not a problem.

I will get pics up of the based units when they are completed as well as step by step shots of the magnetised removable characters.

I have some ideas for the Juggers and Chosen which are next on the project list, however I need to get these finished first. With Honda keeping me honest with his painting thread found here: Honda's painting thread : I really need to get my arse in gear and keep up with him    :)
