I'm looking for some cheap & crap resin to use for making terrain out of.

It doesn't have to have incredible detail, just be cheap and sturdy.

Any ideas?

Alumlite ... it's what I use for terrain.  Generally speaking that's all it's good for IMO ...

Does it have to be resin?  Could you use dental plaster?

Fast Cast, there are many cheaper poly urethanes, check out atlas chemicals, bentley chemicals (though these guys are smooth on and often suck).
Another possibility would be some of the fake stones - its a resin that drys to look like stone. Cheap and durable, also good for damage recreation. Don't know about small quantities though.
Hmm, will look at some more . . .

Your advice would be most appreciated.

It's (at least initially) just for my trenchlines, which are too large to cast with my standard resin, as the pieces end up costing prohibitively large ammounts. I'd rather find a lower quality but cheaper resin.

When I used to do Hirst arts http://www.hirstarts.com/, I mixed normal plaster with some tough-ass concrete like stuff. Dental plaster is also good.

For my hirst arts stuff I use Hydrostone or Hydrastone (i forget which) It's fairly sturdy and cheap as hell. Mix it with some black **** (something oxide) so that it's black if it chips instead of white. Only problem with it is that it hates glue. Wood glue is about the only thing that works well enough, and thats a pain to work with.

Another thought - very stinky and takes  about an hour to go off, GRP - the resin used in fibre glass, can be bought in large cheap qunatities and with release agent, poured and probably vacuumed in a silicone mould.
