Well the smoke has settled and my Adeptus Titanicus induced hangover has subsided so I guess I'd best let people know how it all went!
With a total of 14 players in attendance the day started with a few late runners trying to find the venue (I'll see if i can find somewhere easier next time) we kicked off the fighting at 1030 to the smell of fresh coffee and biscuits with games throughout the day going relatively smoothly and on time all around.
From what I'm aware everyone had a great time gaming and many new faces showed up helping to bring together tourney circuit regulars, taccommers and new gamers in and around bristol together in a friendly based playtest tournament to kick off the year with competitors fighting for this booty of community produced prizes (not a single GW provided prize in sight!):

First place wins a small walking robot, second a zombie robot euro dollar and four non ordered nashorns for 3rd place. Two Golden Gorgonzola's to go to judges and players favourite armies with special 'suprise' prizes for most sporting and the coveted (and somewhat elaborate!) wooden spoon!
After much fussing and fighting (of the fun kind) the scores had been worked out and the victors emerged...well...victorious!

And i even got to play in the 3rd round with my tyranids when Gavin had to take a break: I played against Jon and It was a great game too!
It was brotherly love for players and judges best painted when E&C and Zombocom won the coveted Gorgonzola's (like they need more!) for thier loving crafted Krieg and Dark Eldar armies and that lovely lad Reedar was awarded free entry to an Epic UK tournament of his choice for winning the most sporting vote off of all 3 players that he took on! Finally Christoff (Quase from Belgium) despite his lovely looking orks had the unfortunate honour of taking home the wooden spoon but was further vindicated by being given a long OOP Eldar Exodite rider (donated by Glyn) for his efforts; if we see it on ebay we'll be hunting him down with a big proddy stick: you've been warned!
So, all that leaves me to do is to say a massive thanks to all the players and others who helped organise the event and that I hope to see you all (and more) same time next year I guess...I personally learnt plenty about running tournaments and welcome any feedback that people might have via PM or email...any comments and thoughts on the scenarios we played can be directed towards the relevant Total War threads.
Thankyou and goodnight!
