IIRC fromn the Horus Heresy novels an Imperator Titan has a crew of 5 in it's head. Same as a Warlord.

More servitors surely.  You'd expect there to be more than 1 tech priest and Moderati on a Warlord too, given the vastness of the thing and the sheer quantity of weaponry.

Going off the HH books though, it is 5.  :oo:

What was that book with the Word Bearers? Dark Apostle? IIRC the mechanicum trucked out an imperator in the middle of the book, and a couple of terminators somehow picked the lock on one of the doors in the leg, fought there way up to something vital, and blew the thing up. The fact that you could see it coming a mile away didn't make it any less annoying for titan fans    but the sequence implied that there were at least 10-15 non-servitor crewmen throughout the imperator. Not that it did any good for the titan in that instance.

Well in the Titan Legions Codex (circa 1994), says the Pricep of an Imperator Titan can choose his crew from any other Titans in that Legion.  But no numbers ...  :glare:

In the Leg Bastions there can be a number of Infantry. In the Carapace there will be several Servitors (one pwe weapons systemif we compare them to Forgeworld's Wahround and Reaver) butin the Head there are "only" 5 Crewmen.

And yes the Imperator Titan in "Dark Apostle" was boarded by Chaos Terminators. They fought their way up the Leg Bastions slaughtering numerous Skitarii and automated weapons systems and then placed several Melta-charges at the knee of the Titan. As they left the legs (where they had to fight the survivors they had left at their ascension) the charges whent off and severed the Titan's leg which toppled over and thus was destroyed.

The HH novels also mention an 'engineering team' or words to that effect, presumably consisting of at least 1+ Techpriests (judging by the Forgeworld 40K Titans) supported by servitors/menials, stationed in the main body of the Titan.

So a lot but not the size of a small WWII Sub Crew as suggested by a denizen of TMP ...  And the "legs"/Greaves according to TL ... holds 18 stands of Tech Guard/AM Skitarii ...
