Further unit reviews have seen the folloowing for the next version:

1. Ogryns Berserkers (in the Abhuman upgrade) will be priced in line with Dreadnoughts and will be an option of 2 for 50 points. The cheaper points is offset that you cannot buy them individually and you can only buy 2 for a unit.

2. Onslaught upgrade will go from 125 points per two units to 50 points each unit with the option of buying 1-4. This should assist to cement their role as garrison or blitz supports for Chosen or Berserkers over Dreadnoughts who are favoured for the Dreadclaw assaults.

The supplement will also be split for now with the Army list (which gets the consistent updates) and the Appendix forming two seperate documents in the thread side by side until the updates become more stable.

This will also allow people to keep up with the latest version of the army list without having to download 3+mb each time.

I will get the latest version out asap to help everyone keep up with the changes.

Total Playtests: 20 Games

Well we reach a milestone with the 20th game being reported on and the list taking on a range of improvements and changes for the upcoming version. It has been a 'roller coaster' ride of discussions, playtests, and self achievements that has led up to this point. I am confident that the next version that comes out will continue to be a strong and competative list which captures the element of the World Eaters.  

Going into 2010, I hope to have some people abroad testing the list.

Acknowledgments and recognitions will be given in the upcoming update to thank all those for their input and assistance. I will continue to update the list and bring it to a point where it can be frozen for a year. I will also devote some time to other pet projects that will be released in early 2010 with any luck.

FB, not that I mind, but what sort of information led you to the decision to drop the price of the GBS?

BL: Are the Red Corsair BScorps going to be costed the same as here or vice versa?

Regarding the Berserker Ogryns, I know E&C costed them 3 units for 100 pts in the Vraks Renegades list. In the interests of consistency, would that make sense here?

Comparing them directly to the Feral titan and a range of other units that I cannot remember at the moment. They are definately not worth the full 200 points and so 175 is the next level. They really are not that great with 30cm range, but than can be3 useful in the right setup - not that I have found that yet  



Well that is cheaper than I have them (I did not know he had them that cheap). I will continue with what I have them for at the moment as one thing that epic does not seem to do and that is price things differently across lists - so this may be a start. Just because it is priced one way in another list, it does not mean it could not change between lists depending on their effectiveness and role.

The other point is that I have tested these guys now in a few games and although they foot-slog it across the table, they have one of the best saves in the list and are counted as 'disposable' when in a unit with World Eater Berserkers (something that the Vraks list does not do). In this regard, you would expect maybe that they should pay a little premium

While the supplement is being worked on, I have completed the "Play Document" for the World Eaters bringing it to V2.0.

This document is only 340kb and only has the information necessary for gaming (no datafaxes and no appendices).

It is updated on Page 1 of this thread as well as here : Link to World Eaters V2.0 Play Document

You will notice that everything (including Daemons) have been placed into line with 25 point allotments.

I do not think I have missed anything out, however here are the future plans for the list as I see them at the moment:

- Review the titans within the list - see if we can 'Khornise' them a little more
- Review the Black Legion and LotD playtest changes when they are released and see if any are to be incorporated into this list
- Review the role of the Spacecraft within the army list and what changes (if required) can be put in place

So to start, I am going to use the following from BFG as inspiration:

Chariots to Slaughter
To all but the blindest and most deranged of Khorne’s followers, the need for ships to transport them across the
stars is obvious, though beyond such cold utility even the most ancient of vessels deserves little more reverance. To
Khorne’s followers, such vessels are little more than steeds, chariots even, to take them to slaughter. Where
other gods might visit their blessing equally upon their followers both man and machine, Khorne cares little for
the beasts of steel, and it is instead upon the deranged and bloodthirsty warriors that slay in his name that
Khorne’s blessing falls.

Khorne’s lust for blood eschews as cowardly and unworthy long-ranged guns of many traitor vessels. Even a perfectly
well-armed and equipped warship of Khorne may forgo all firing as its frenzied crew instead plough furiously forwards,
impatient to fall upon their enemy hand-to-hand.

With little love of magic or arcance technology, followers of Khorne are often equally loathe
to rely upon such tricks as teleportation and instead enact the will of their god with their frenzied boarding actions.
So insanely devoured by the lust for blood are some that they forsake any form of shooting entirely, and instead
populate drifing hulks, from where they can fall upon enemy fleets, or even worlds, in an unstoppable tide of
boarding actions. Khorne is not blind to the need for firepower, though he gives no favour to it, and his fleets
remainly rigidly utilitarian in this regard, willing only to utilise those weapons and those tactics which will
ultimately bring them closer to their target, closer to the slaughter.

So the project will look at a class of Spaceship to replace the Despoiler that will carry more stands. I now just have decide on the weaponry and it's eventual points cost.

hmm reading that i think i may have to convert myself up a WE ship, although i only have the BFG starter box set thingy, so a battleship size vessle may need some work    thanks for the updated list

My biggest problem at the moment is finding troop carrying capacity of these ships. It looks like I am just going to have to create a troop carrier.

A crazy idea: What about a Chaos Space Hulk? Certainly it would have Slow and Purposeful but horrendous firepower and transport capacity.
IIRC Angron traveled in one to Armageddon.
