For armor, I think AV5+ is the way to go, based on a comparison to the eldar vehicles in both 40k and epic.

Speed is a bit trickier: sure they are 'fast' in 40k, but speed doesn't directly translate from 40k to Epic, as 'fast' in 40k rarely translates to more than a 5cm/move speed difference in epic.

However, if you want to keep the base movement slow (befitting a nurgle army, I think), but you want to give the blight drones some sort of fly-like reflexes, how about giving them a move of 20 or 25cm, but also making them infiltrators. That would let them advance slowly like the rest of the army, but let them engage at a better distance. It'll also let them ignore certain ZoC issues that would go a long way to being fly-like.

After all, flies can't move all that fast over a long distance, they just have good burst speed.

I'd go with 30cm move.  They are skimmers, so that's still pretty darn quick even if it's a touch slower than some of the other "skimmer, fast" 40K units translate into Epic.  30cm gives a 10cm countercharge in assaults, so they have good reaction.

I'd go with AV and 5+ armor, which I think is the consensus.

I would say stick with only decent firepower on the Maw/Vomit cannon, just to keep the price at a reasonable level.  They are supposed to be a real threat but not deadly, zippy gun platforms like something from the Dark Eldar.

As far as them being a fast element in a Nurgle list, I'm not concerned.  The Death Guard list is pretty limited in regards to its composition.  A couple fast skimmer formations is not going to radically change the character of the list.

Even if they are more common in other Nurgle lists (maybe a cultist list, for example), who cares?  It's a new style.  Having a Nurgle list with lots of fly-like elements and "fast-spreading pestilence" theme is a cool idea.

Agree with Neal and of course you are forgetting the most important point. They are one of the coolest looking things to come out of FW since the Brass Scorpion.

I agree that 35cm is to fast for a Nurgle thingy so i stick with 30cm speed. 25 is just to slow.

So canwe life with this stats?

Blight Drone
Type Speed Armour CloseCombat Firefight
Armoured Vehicle 30cm 5+ 6+ 5+
Weapon Range Firepower Notes
Maw Cannon(Vomit) 15cm AP3+ Ignore Cover
Reaper Autocannon 30cm AP4+/AT6+ -

Notes: Fearless, Invulnerable Save, Skimmer.

The stats for the Vomit of the Maw Cannon are identical to the Hellhounds Inferno Gun so i would stick with AP3+ instead of AP4+

Good to see a conversation almost reaching a conclusion for once

My only querey now is the Maw Cannon. If we are going with what Neal states that everyone is agreeing with:

...the question remains (as it has been looked over), should this be AP4+ or AP3+? The fact that it has Ignore cover, I think AP4+ is good enough.

Bee's swarm, as they have a hive. Flies are well....flies. Frankly, when a fly is buzzing around me bothering me...its usually one...not 5.

When I think of a "blight drone" I think of something with combat value, but an ability to crash itself into other units to spread its contagion.
Not sure if anyone else thinks thats a cool idea. heh.

I wont deny that you can be bombarded/assaulted by flies, but they dont share a hive mind like bees. Am I wrong?

Where flies will do it of their own reasoning, you can be swarmed with a purpose by communicating borg like bee attacks. ZAP ZAP!

Why not give this blight drone some kind of stinger attack for a CC weapon hehe. That could create some interesting scratch build scenarios.

They are Flies not bees. Regardless of the bee hive image. The target is the rotten meat and the Blight Drones are hungry flys ready to eat like Brundle-Fly (vomit unspeakable stuff on the victim which then dessolves and slurp up the remains. A thing which is actually described in the Blight Drone's description in Vraks 3)

30cm with increased cost. Start high so you can always drop points or lower speed if it proofes too powerful.
