Right full and championship result sheets can be seen here

Championship standings on the home page are up to date too.

Just the individual games to add in and the fantasy result and my work is done  :sulk:

@Mephiston

Many thanx for posting this. It's quite interesting to see which armies were field. Although the BL show up a lot, in perusing their lists, it doesn't seem like they are as cookie-cutter as SM lists appear to be.

Thanx for sharing.

I was on 15 championship points, I came 5th (4 points), new army (4 pts) nd GT (1 pt).  Shouldn't I have 24 pts?  Or is that the bit you mean you haven't done yet?

If you looked at the championship in the week before the GT I'd already added in the bonus points for new races and bonus point for GT attendance. So you get 4 points for 5th and end on 19.

I have you down as 2 5th places, using 3 races at 3 tournaments with bonus points for Britcon and the GT totaling 19 points.

Yes, all the Chaos lists had 2 Death Wheels. 4 of the 5 eldar lists had at least one guardian formation in wave serpents and all had only one aspect formation.

In all the lists some things are better than others, and with out the need to change which models sell ala GW is see no problem with this.

Rug,

Fair enough observation. What stuck out at me was the prevalence of Warhounds. I think that has more to do with "tuning" a SM list for tourney efficiency than anything.

Obviously, we don't want there to be one single "optimal" build for any list and even if there was, that doesn't mean that "you" the player are suddenly competitive because you use that list. I am a firm believer that a good player with any kind of list will outplay an average player with a good list.

If my comment came off as a slam, my apologies. That was not my intent.

Sorry for the double post, but I can see where my misunderstanding came from. I initially only looked at the top 5 finishers (Championship), then just pecked through the Full(?) results. So I think my method of sampling is what left me with my perceptions:

For example, these were the top 3 finishing BL lists:

Quote:

Black Legion
------------

Retinue 1 (Mark of Tzeeeeeentch) + Daemon Prince + 1 Oblitorator + Daemonic Pact
Retinue 2 (Mark of Tzeeeeeentch) + 1 Oblitorator +  Daemonic Pact
Forlorn Hope 1 (Mark of Tzeeeeeentch) + 2 Rhinos + Daemonic Pact
Forlorn Hope 2 (Mark of Tzeeeeeentch) + 2 Rhinos + Daemonic Pact
Raptors x 4 (Mark of Tzeeeeeentch) + Daemonic Pact
Deathwheel
Deathwheel
Feral Titan
Feral Titan
Swiftdeath Interceptors
Devastion Class Cruiser
Lesser Daemon Pool - 8 Lesser Daemons

RAPTORS X4
RETINUE + OBLIT
RETINUE + OBLIT
RETINUE + OBLITx2 + DAEMON PRINCE
FORLORN HOPE + RHINOS
FORLORN HOPE + RHINOS
FORLORN HOPE + RHINOS
DEATH WHEEL
DEATH WHEEL
TERMIS X6 + DP
TERMIS X4

(All Nurgle)
Chaos Marine Retinue + Daemonic Pact + Obliterator + Daemon Prince
Chaos Marine Retinue + Daemonic Pact + Obliterator + Defiler
Feral
Feral
Death Wheel
Forlorn Hope + Daemonic Pact
Forlorn Hope + Daemonic Pact
Devastation Class Cruiser
4 Chosen (including Sorcerer) + Obliterator + Daemonic Pact
6 Raptors (including Sorcerer) + Daemonic Pact
Daemon Pool - 8 Lesser Daemons 160

And although, they do have Deathwheels present, my perception based on ignorance is that these lists played differently from each other even though they have some similar components.

Now having pulled the top 4 SM lists, I see that there are actually, two ground-pounders and two air assault.

Quote:

Space Marine
------------

Tactical + Supreme Commander + Hunter
Land Speeders
Dev + Hunter
Thunderbolt
Terminators + Chaplain
Thunderhawk
Terminators + Chaplain
Scouts
Scouts
Warhound
Warhound

Tactical Formation + Razorback (Twin Las-cannon) + Vindicator + Hunter + Supreme Commander
Terminators
Scouts + Razorback (Twin Las-cannon)
Assault Squad (Chaplain)
Assault Squad
Whirlwinds
Bikes
Land Speeders
Thunderhawk
Thunderhawk
Thunderbolts
Warhound

Landing Craft
T'Hawk
T'Hawk
Dev + Sup Cmdr + Hunter
Tactical

Terminators

Scout + 2 x Razor (Las)
Strike Cruiser
T'Bolt
T'Bolt

Strike Cruiser
Tactical, Supreme Commander, Hunter, Razorback
Land Speeders
Devastator
Thunderhawk
Devastator

Terminator, Chaplain
Thunderbolt
Reaver

So apologies all around, it appears that some of the content of my earlier post was misguided.

However, I'm still glad the data was posted.  :grinning:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks to me like 3 of those lists are air assult (2x thunderhawks in each list, and also a landing craft in one) with the other list still having one Thunderhawk and two Terminator formations (presumably one in the Thunderhawk, considering the upgrades on the mech inf formations).

Meaning that the "ground pounding" list (the one with only one Thunderhawk) still put 1000pts (+ Thunderbolts) into reserve before the game.

That Landing Craft / Battle Company / Planetfall list looks like fun.

"Fun" isn't what I'd call it   But that was down to my poor play mainly!

Every single list played at events that contribute to the UK Championship are available to for viewing for the first year ever.

In other news all the player and race stats have now been updated. That just leaves the fantasy and I can start on my game reports  :oo:

Gah.  And there was me hoping for a bit of a boost.

Just for interest, I calculated people's average score, because those who attend lots of tourments obviously hve a massive advantage over those who don't (like me, yes, it was purely out of self interest....   ).

Yep, Dave still won......

Yes, I have a script that does that too...never posted it as we agreed to do the championship on total points not averages. But Nathan will be along any minute to argue its worth!

I did another one that would make him (er.. and me  :p ) feel even better:  Ranked in order of biggest difference between position based on the average score and the actual position.

Interesting to note in this case that the people grouped around the 1 to -1 difference (i.e. poeple for whom average nd actual score make little difference) are mostly the "usual suspects" who make up the top 5 positions at most tournaments.

Quote:

Name Actual Position Points No Tourneys Attended Average Points Average Position Difference
Nathan Hoole 9 26 3 8.67 2 7
Andy Harris 13 19 3 6.33 6 7
