Nice!

Once again makes me wish I hadn't gone for dull grey for my Krieg army!

Actually, I don't think you're in a terminal situation. One of the things you can do to add some spice, if you like, is apply a scheme like Pg. 82. It starts with a base of grey like you have painted yours, then the brown blotch with a lighter outline. I think you could pull that off pretty well, I've seen your other stuff.  :agree:

I was really torn between the two schemes (Pg. 33 vs. 82) and do think that I'll go back and do another two cheezers at some point for another infantry company as it's a very attractive scheme.

Here's todays mid-holiday update. I decided to build some entrenchments for my Artillery Co, using what materials I had at hand. So a little sheet plastic later...

Pt. II

Magnetizing the bases

The idea behind adding magnets is that I want the bases to protect the model, but I also think that at some point I will build some bunkers for them and the entrenchments would make that a difficult exercise. So a few magnets later, I will be able to pop the guns off their bases and put them inside something that will let them hang around sending "love" all over the battefield a bit longer than opponents would prefer.

Winterizing the guns

The Pg 33 scheme

I haven't sealed these guys yet as I still may go back and do a few highlights, but for the most part they are done. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out and they look close to the slide on Pg 33.

Cheers,

Great work  :agree: will you add any texture to the floor of the gun emplacements?

Crisp, nice, very good looking. Clever thing with the magnet bases, too.

Well, now that you've brought it up, I suppose I am obligated to do something.

I do have some very fine sand (from Gulf Shores, AL, I believe) that will do the job. Since I want to make sure the magnets make contact with each other, what I may end up doing is leaving wheeel ruts so that the model sits properly.

But good catch. After looking at the bases again, they will look pretty odd without some sort of debris on the inside of the dugout area.

As disciplined as the Krieg are, I doubt they sweep out their artillery entrenchments.

Well, I would save the praise till after I tell you that it worked. It seems like it ought to, but "best laid plans" and all that...

Thanx for the C&C all!

the gorgons look pretty cool with the camo. Turned out really nice. Have you thought of making the aquilla white on the top rather than cammo and have you thought about leaving some the hydrolics on the front metallic rather than cammo as well?

PM sent.

I have thought about it and it's still under evaluation. I do want it to stand out a bit, but also look as close to the color plate as I can get it. So, it is possible that that would happen.

Hmm...that's a good point. That might provide the break in color I am looking for to keep the nose of the vehicle from looking so...uniform, I guess is the word I'm thinking of.

I like that suggestion a lot...thanx!

That's right, it's almost Christmas on Krieg and so the Munitorium has been feverishly working on getting more resources to our boys on Vraks...

First off, some light tankettes for transporting an upcoming Grenadier formation

Here's the ever present and utilitarian Universal Imperial Hauler

Continuing on with our story...

In the absence of any suitable model (looks over at Otterman and E&C), I borrowed a couple of Ork weapon thingies to represent my Hades Breaching Drills for future Engineers formations

Also, since you really can't have enough artillery to pound heretics with, some Snake-Head Siege Units
