Attention citizens! More Chimeras for the service of the most holy God-Emperor are finished. Actually I did little touch ups on all nine of them. Here are the pictures.

Kurganmashzavod pattern Chimeras...

You gotta hand it to GHQ. They really are king of 6mm AFVs

Nice paint job too  :p

Yes they indeed are. And the price is excellent. Thanks for comment.

Correct. I chose the Panzerhaubitze because I like it's modern look and because it is more massive than SAU-152 or Paladin, I like my SPA to be massive...

Thank you! I prefer vehicles that look more realistic and detailed than the GW Basilisks. And they don't even have a proper rotatable turret like the modern SPA.

Yes, and the Basilisks are Krauss-Maffei Wegmann pattern, as are some things to be seen in the future...

Fantastic stuff. I really want to get my hand on some GHQ minis, but there is so much else distracting my wallet's attention.

awesome stuff, i do like the mix of ranges you have going on and how well the painting has pulled them all together as one force.

And so comes forth another update. This time in a form of an AA-tank. This Krauss-Maffei Wegmann-pattern Hydra will keep the skies clear for my tank company. Hence the number 141 (the Russes in the company use 100-133). I first tried to convert this to have 4 barrels, but it didn't look good at all. But 2 barrels spitting doom faster than most people can go to ground is enough. Now my tank company is at it's planned condition, Vanquisher + 9 basic Russes + Hydra, totalling 700 points and being the most expensive formation.

Now what tank is this? Anyone?

Thanks. I consider GHQ stuff worth every cent that I paid for them. The quality and details are excellent.

Thank you. I planned things pretty much from the beginning to be an army made from many different manufacturers' minis. I also like things to look uniform and part of one force.

Time for some more artillery. The past few weeks I have had surprising amounts of free time, which of course shows as 6 painted Basilisks and 1 Hydra. Hopefully I'm able to continue like this so I can get my Regiment ready for war. But now, pictures...

Correct. Built on a chassis of Leopard 1 and armed with 2 Oerlikon 35mm autocannons. Our Marskman AA-tanks here in Finland use the same cannons, but the turret is mounted on a T-55.

Thank you. More to come in the future.

And we have more again! For some reason, I have found time to paint stuff again. Some things are still on the table, waiting for paint, but they will see camera's flashlight soon. Meanwhile, the last 3 Basilisks, which now bring my self-propelled artillery to a whole battery! This nasty formation will deliver 9BP-a-turn as long as it is protected from assault and doesn't receive blast markers. Somehow I assume they will receive attention on the field.

Looks like I forgot to take pictures of the new ones on their own, but they are the 3 on the right.

So, what do you think of my artillery now?

These are great! I hadn't seen this thread before. It gives me inspiration to bet my BMP-2s painted up. I was thinking of the [GHQ]Gepard as a Hydra as well. Good to see it works out.

What size pen do you use for the lettering?

I considered BMP-2 as a Chimera, but wanted something more futuristic looking, so I ended up in BMP-3. Gepard is good as Hydra, but it has quite fragile gun barrels, they have to be handled carefully. I considered making a steel reinforcments below their barrels, but that would have looked bulky and had been troublesome to do.

I use 0.2mm (0.007") technical pen.

More tanks roll from the factories to bolster my army! To keep skies clear, possibly near the artillery, I have painted 3 Hydras. These form a separate AA-platoon, which I can keep as a whole or divide to companies. I have given them numbers 411-413, and all future Hydras will be numbered to that AA-battery (altough in game they are always in separate platoons or attached to companies, as E:A doesn't allow 9 Hydras as a formation). And here they are:

And now is a good time to stop for a while and look at the whole thing.

Regimental HQ
-Supreme Commander
-12 Infantry
-4 Fire-support
-9 Chimeras
=650

Infantry Company
-1 Commander
-12 Infantry
-2 Snipers
=300

Tank Company
-1 Vanquisher
-9 Leman Russes
-1 Hydra
=700

Artillery Battery
-9 Basilisks
=650

Flak Platoon
-3 Hydras
=150

Total Points: 2450
Infantry Units: 32
Armoured Vehicles: 32
Activations: 5

So I have 550 points to go, lots of tanks and perhaps too little activations. I think 550 points could get nice platoon-strong support formations to do manouvers and nasty flankings. And lets take a look at the big picture now.

The regiment as a whole, waiting for last formations (not actually last, I will grow this to much more than 3000 points).

Tank company with it's Hydra, my most expensive formation.

Regimental HQ, or in smaller battles, just an armoured jaeger company.

The self-propelled artillery battery is few posts before this. And I forgot to take a recent picture of my jaeger company...

Be on guard, I still have some aces stuffed up my sleeves and even in my collar.
