Honda, you are just talking about removing the skyray upgrade from just the Skyray formation and not proposing removal of the upgrade across the rest of the list, right? I'm praying that's what you mean.

If you're set on keeping the formation then I would agree that a more fragile formation is at least fairer in some ways - having 4 skyrays is whiffy.

I would have thought it came in to replace the Stingray formation in some way?

Personally I would probably jump for (if I wasn't Manta'ing) 1 barracuda squadron, 1 skyray upgrade to a hammerhead formation (or fearless FW formation) and 1 independent formation.

The fragility of the flak battery is therefore negated by the barracudas in the sky and if both get taken out there is still the single running around. With the 60cm coverage under current stats I get 8 5+ defensive shots against crazy air assault armies (a 4/9 chance of a critical on a marine ship) and stuff like bombers and fighters are toast until I start to degrade or spread out.

Other options include making it a 'twin' shot?
