Just getting this organized for when I post photos tomorrow;

Now that I've got my various Starship projects in a place where I'm happy to take a break, I'm going to really get back to painting my Epic Guard.

Here's what I was working on today:

-Base-coated and finished the foundation on 6 Conquerors and 7 Leman Russ's
-Base-coated and finished the foundation on 2 Ragnaruss's and 1 Destroyer
-Base-coated 15 Ragnaruss's, 20 Tankettes 1 Macharius Vulcan
-Finished 3 Macharius' Vulcans, 1 Ragnaruss, and 1 Conqueror

My process is simple, but effective and doesn't tire me out too much. Basically, I base-coat with Krylon Ultra-Flat black, use Dheneb Stone foundation, drybrush heavily with Kommando Khaki, drybrush lightly with Bleached Bone, then follow it up with a black wash.

Tracks, certain parts of barrels, and anything shiny is done with a Charadon Granite foundation, Codex Gray drybrush, Boltgun Metal drybrush, and a black wash.

I have yet to decide on insignia or unit identifiers, but I suppose I'll find something. I have a very heavy box coming from Otterman this week, so combine that with my molding tally, and my backlog is ever increasing.

Oh, and anybody have an idea on what to cover up the stubber-turret holes on a Rag hull with? I'd like to find a small half-sphere or something that looks appropriate as a turret replacement, rather than plugging them with putty.

If you are just trying to cover the holes, I'd go for thin slices of p-card rod, cut to whatever thickness works for you.  You could even use hex rod.

A few PVA rivets on top and you could easily have a passable hatch.

You could also use the banner poles from Epic 20x20 bases to cover the holes and just clip off the tall part.

Never say, "Tomorrow" when relying upon a digital camera....

So, 8 days and one camera battery later, I finally have some photos to put up:

A view of my "Traveling Paint Station". There's about 4 companies of armor, 1 artillery company and assorted others with either a base-coat or the Dheneb Stone foundation done.

And here's a picture focusing a little more on some "close-to-finished" items. I am currently waiting on a paint order so I can finish out the tracks and slap some gold on various appropriate places.

I started as wanting to do a Krieg regiment, but this has now changed to a Vostroyan Armored Division. No real intent to game with them, I just enjoy painting and modeling.

I'll take a few more tonight.

I liked the original studio scheme for Vostroyans, but I wanted to make it a little more appropriate for multiple environments. That and the lack of Ogre Flesh spraypaint!
