No pics. ?I'm using BFG frigates (Ravagers, I think). ?They're a little small, but I intend to replace the little spindly wings with IG Thunderbolt wings, which will add a look of significant heft. ?They should definitely match the size of other DC2 aircraft and transports once it's done.
Unfortunately, I basecoated the doggone things before I hit on the conversion idea. ?I have to either repaint the things, or buy some brush primer to do just the new wings.

Well, with the revision finally out, I've rewrote my list. ?I have also started on my Warlord. ?Not sure how its gonna come out yet. ?I'll make it, paint it and then decide if I like it or not. ?
Here's the list.
Big Warband - 520 ? ?+ 1 Stompa - [75] ? ?+ 1 Nob - [35] ? ?+ 1 Boyz - [25] ? ?+ 1 Dread - [35]
Normal Warband - 325 ? ?+ 1 Stompa - [75] ? ?+ 2 Boyz - [50]
Big KoS - 350
Big BB - 250
Stormboyz - 150
Stompa Mob - 405 ? ?+ 3 Dreads - [105] ? ?+ 1 Stompa - [75]
Total = 2000pts
6 Formations
I'm pretty happy with that. ?Especially the amount of Stompas I've spread throughout. ?Now to finish making the infantry stands and converting two hellhounds into guntrukks.

What no landa?
Sorry, I think I'm obsessed by now, and will not be responsible for my further actions e.g. buying (when the time comes) lots of Landas. Meanwhile Thundabad 1 is finally undercoated.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a Stompa Bigmob than split the Stompas? Or do you prefer having them support the other mobs?
cheers.

I'm not gonna take any flyers or warmachines for the first 2000pts. I will be using the army to teach others, trying to get them into the game. So I need to keep it simple.
I have a stompa mob, you can only have a normal mob now, and have to buy extra stompas. Plus, yes I want a little support in the other formations. I'm hoping that having only 1 stompa in the one warband, and a stompa and dread in the main warband, will not attract too much AT fire. Too many infantry units to bother using AT, so they should be reasonably unharmed. At least thats the theory.
And dont worry, once those landas are released, I'll be one of the first in the queue.

And as a training army, I think it's great. Would you keep the same ratio of points for Boyz and vehicles in a larger army? (well, barring Gargants who tip the points value off the scale) I am one of the vehicle-heavy types (an enginseer - or should that be mekboy - can't help it) with (seriously!) 3 Uge Blitz brigades consisting solely of gunwagonz, with a few left over... not that I'll ever use them all together.

I will try, I do prefer the stompy Ork force. My 1500pt 40K Ork force is all foot troops with the only vehicles being 3 Killa Kanz and a Dread.
So I want to keep the same kind of theme. To be honest, I'd probably add more stompa Mobz, warbands, and Stormboyz (with the odd deth kopta) before adding another vehicle unit. Obviously, a Gargant will fit in with the Stompa theme!

Okay, here's the first pic of the army ( http://f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph.....view=t )
From left to right is the Blitz Brigade (6 guntrukks, 2 flakwagonz), then the main Warband just missing the actual Warlord model (cause I haven't made him yet) a Dread and a stompa, then the other Warband missing a stompa, behind them are the stormboyz missing one stand, and finally on the right are the KoS.
All the infantry need priming yet, aswell as the BB. The KoS have been started (I started them just before starting this thread) and are not far from done. I just need to add detail and bases.
All I have left to put in the pic is a Stompa Mob. But I haven't taken them off the sprues yet. I also need to perfect a colour scheme for it all.
I'm gonna try out two base types. The sand one mentioned earlier and a greyish one that will fit in with cityfight terrain. I'll post a pic of each eventually and ask for opinions.

*sigh* I'll get to the photo-of-ork-army stage when the epic Demiurg army list comes out...as I wonder whether the Landa will be painted before the year is out... I guess my slow paint rate is the one thing which determines the vehiclicity of my armies - I usually paint one ork (no, not one stand of orks) in the same time I take to paint a Gargant.

Well as I dont get to actually play epic, all I can do is paint and convert.
The only games I get are 40K and BFG, and the occasional Fantasy game.

I didn't get that much done last night, as I had friends round and we were planning on which villa to stay in when we go to Cyprus next year.
I did manage to basecoat all the Nob stands in black and the last Stormboyz stand.
I should get a lot more done tonight, as I'll have a couple of hours free. So I'm gonna try and undercoat as much as the small amount of black spray left in the can will allow.

Last night I emptied the last of my black spray can on the Orks.
I think I did all the infantry, but I'm bound to find one stand I've missed.
I sprayed the 6 FW guntrukks and 2 Stompas.
I have started on a colour scheme for the Stompas, and am pretty happy with it. I've gone for blue, so I can use them as Deth Skullz if I want to. And I've done their heads green. It looks really good, but Ihaven't finished them yet. I'll take a pic once one is done.
I have also started to paint about 10 Nob stands (I forget now how many). I've done them in a similar way to the Stompas. Blue armour, green heads (obviously) and red powerfists. I'm not sure if they go yet though. Once I've finished a stand, I'll put it up here for your guys opinions.
