I probably won't fulfill my purchase of 10 sprues - it's taken far too long for them to make an appearance. Not a comment on the models (renders look very good), but a big No Confidence vote for WF.

I'm not sure I'd go that far: the L&UL idea was a good one, but promised somewhat more than they could deliver, at least in the short run.

So, yes, they probably needed to manage expectations better than they did.  On the other hand, their product is good, and it is improving, and the 'submit your own' idea has kept people's attention to a fair degree.

Still, I suspect asking them to produce a bit of a 6mm range as well as their core 28mm range was something of a long shot.

It basically comes down to this.  If they are taking money from investors they need to be really carefull to actually make people feel like they get something to show for it.

The only email I have ever recieved is the one asking for the initial $1 payment.  Other than that I have recieved no communications.  They really need to let investors know how the money has been spent and what there plans are.

Agreed, the $1 prepay was a serious mistake: not enough to pay for the time needed to keep (penny-stock) investors onboard, but too much to be ignored by said 'investors.'

In their minds, I'm sure, they $1 prepay ensured that they'll complete the project sometime soon.  But their definition of soon is likely quite different from ours -- not least because they've got to fend off customers baying for Germans, Norse, and Mangleorks of the 28mm variety.

Yeah it would be nice for them to perhaps shoot those who pre-paid/pre-ordered, an email or the like. I've yet to hear one single thing about the money I paid(more than just $1). It's like "Thanks for stealing my money....". It can't help their customer satisfaction for future business, that's for sure.

I wonder if their best bet won't be to sell the sprue mould to a different company like GZG?

They were thinking at one point of stopping and refunding all the $1.

I think the fact that the sprue raced past the pre-order stage so fast they were caught out. Only 28mm zombies went faster.

6mm is so of what they have done so far it was always going to take a long time imo. But they should and could have communicated this much better. Hopefully their experience with this will help them improve the union process, as their 28mm models are getting better with every release.

I'd rather just wait ... the project is almost done ... so before I'd shut it down ... I'd continue to wait ...

I've just written that money off. I rate the project as having less than a 20% chance of seeing the light of day.

Well if they turn out I'll still buy them, as I'm sure many others will. I prefer plastics.

So I recently got a bunch of headless Romans: Wargames Factory's packers neglected to pack the sprues with heads, only the sprues with weapons, torsos, and commanders.  In fact, I got extra weapons/torso sprues instead of the torso/head sprues.

I wrote them to complain.

Today I got a nice little package from WF with the missing sprues, as well as enough extra sprues to put heads on the extra torso sprues they had mistakenly sent me.   A nice touch... of course now I have 200+  28mm Romans to assemble and paint.

All in all, I appreciate what they're doing.  Clearly it has been a ragged start, but they've been classy about fixing their mistakes.

Unfortunate that the notcrons have taken so long, but I'm inclined to cut them some slack.

A few months back I ordered one of their Zombie Horde packs.  I ordered it on a friday, and it arrived at my address in the UK, from the US, the following Tuesday.  There are British stores/companies that don't get their orders to customers that quick.  I've had a lot of respect for WF since then, not just for their miniatures (love the Zombies btw, hope they make more, and the post-apocalyptic survivors pack they've been discussing - Zombpocalypse Skirmish game ftw!   )

I got my marine sprue back from them yesterday along with 8 of their new viking warriors. Their quality is good, especially on the weapons. Since Tony mentioned that they are working on the quality of the androids I'm sure the androids will come out looking great.

Also, on looking the warriors up on the WF site I found that you can get 8 for $5! Considering some GW boxsets go for 5 for $20 that's pretty ridiculous.

Heh, ordered three boxes of Romans on sale @ 48 for $10.  Ended up with 288 castings for $30 -- including the headless ones that re-gained their heads.

It'd be hard to get Bacchus 6mm Romans for that price!
