Wish that FW flying model was still available!

Some of those DRM models are too small to see what they really look like, but some sure look nice.

Thanks for the links and pictures above.  Thats a really good reference!

GW Dominatrixes are just asking to be repurposed as Hierodules -- they have a smaller footprint than the Hierophant and Hierodule models, are nice castings, and can be had on e-bay for a fairly reasonable price (unlike Carnifexes, etc.)

L4 had some Pendraken 10mm 'Queens'/large bugs among his pictures.  Most of the Pendraken medium bugs are good LV-class 'nids.

The Pendraken small bugs are a nice -- slightly chunky -- size for 6mm.  The Pendraken Large-Jawed attack bugs are basically 10mm scale Starship Troopers Arachnid warriors (minus the two claws in the mouth area) -- a good AV proxy for 6mm.  The flamer bug is fairly big -- what Mongoose Press modeled as a a Tanker bug.  I'm not that impressed with it as a casting, but it would not be a bad base for modeling.

To my eye, DRM's infantry bugs come in three varieties: gargoyles, creepers with tails, and walkers with claws/tentacles, etc.  I'm hard put to be able to tell vampire bugs from workers.  But they are nice castings.  The claw bugs are quite nice, and the big bugs are very very nice.

Also interesting, I think, are Mongoose Press's OOP control bugs and Cliff Mites from their Starship Troopers Range -- at 6mm scale, a nice version of an SST arachnid. The infiltrator bug may well become my 'nid Hydraphant -- it looks quite ready to arm-wrestle an Eladar titan.  Also, the Rippler bug swarms provide a nice set of buggy torsos.  Most of these go for collector's prices on e-bay, but they can often be found squirreled in the dusty sections of hobby stores.
