Hello, I'm back, apologies for the rubbish pic in my last post, but today is the beginning of a new era...

...an age of properly lighted photography...

...of pictures that are correctly focused, and not blurry...

Behold, the dawning of the age of the PHOTOBOX!!!

I'm still getting used to it, the first pictures I've taken all suffer from the fact I think the lights were too close to the Photobox.

But anyway, here's better pictures of the Chaos cruisers I've been working on.

Better pictures of the Predator:

The latest finished Cruiser, Slaughter with Mark of Khorne:

... and finally, pics of my pip Carnage with Mark of Nurgle:

I should get this finished over the next 2-3 nights, more pics soon, thanks for looking!

Uhm. Is that a jelly doughnut on top of the bridge  :suspect:    :p

Seriously though. Nice pic. And cool looking photo box. Where did you get that kit? And how much did it cost. I've been thinking about getting one for years...

Yes, Chaos being the better of the armies, when Orks and the like can only use Cookies to tempt the fickle, Chaos can boast Donuts.

But as that's a Khorne donut, I would recommend the filling if you're a vegetarian!

As for the Photobox, it's this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/studio-....&sr=8-3

The price fluctuates, but I have seen it over £40 and as low as £30.  A good buy in anycase.  It folds in to being it's own case, which is kind of neat

Hello, I'm still chipping away at this fleet, even though I've painted the cuisers.

Now I'm working on Escorts.  I've ordered some Infidels and Iconoclasts from GW, but in order to keep costs down I'm scratch-building the rest.  In total there'll be 10 Infidels and 5 Iconoclasts, which means I need to scratch-build 2 Iconoclasts and 5 Infidels (the other 2 will be converted from Cobras).

I've started on the Infidels - I'm working from two 40k Chaos Space Marine Boltguns stuck together, with some plastic tubing:

I've aimed to keep them about the same size (well, length anyway) as the Cobra miniature:

Now, I want to disguise as much as possible that these are 40k Boltguns!  So I'm going to be adding Plasticard, 40k bits and Green Stuff sculpting to do this.

The other night I got cutting up some fine plastic rod, here's how far I got as I go a bit bored!

Still a way to go on these yet, but they're starting to look a little more like BFG vessels.

More pics soon, thanks for looking!

Not been impressed by anything BFG in a long while but i'm really liking the conversions on this fleet; a little bit of ingenuity goes a long way  :)

Woah, thanks MoK, that's very flattering!    I think BH is right, there are some astonishing Gothicomp entries, my humble efforts can't hold a candle to the best!

Anyway, I have to 'fess up to an error - the Escorts I'm scratch-building aren't Infidels, they're Idolators  :oo:

Right, having cleared that up, here's where I've got to with them:

This week I'll start sculpting the prows.

Also, you might remember the Imperial shops I posted at the start of this thread.  Well, they've got some paint on them.  They're looking a bit blue, though (ba-dum-tish!)

I've also started on some escort, 4 each of Swords and Cobras, so that when they're all painted it'll be a 1,000 point fleet.  Working on these has been a pleasant distraction from the Idolators, which are getting to be a bit of a drag now!

More pics soon, thanks for looking

Thanks Apoc!

I've done a little more work on them, added some fins and the sprue prows; still plenty more Plasticard and Green Stuff work to get these finished.

In the meantime, I've been painting those Imperial shops, and I'm pleased with how they're coming along.  Still messing with my photobox set-up, still trying to get pictures I'm happy with, but here's a taster.

These ships are about 85-90% done, I just need to add lights and thruster flare to them.

First, Lunars:

The prows are my first attempt at blending white, not totally happy with them but they are ok.  Shame the photo set up is making them too bright to see the shading!  :glare:

http://i29.photobucket.com/albums....Pip.jpg

Some Swords - still got to add Squadron markings:

And some Cobras - these are 701 squadron, hence the markings:

I aim to get these finished by the end of the week - as for the Escorts, frak knows when I'll get those finished..!  ???

More pics soon, thanks for looking!
