San: not right now, I'm in the process of painting it and attempting to push the level of paintjob to the best I can with it since it's pretty much the centerpiece of the Marine army. I'll have plenty of pics after it's finished though :)

I've not been dead, just trying very hard to get a couple of forgeworld thawks painted up for Cal and not kill myself over my grad class the last couple of weeks. I've also start working with a couple of new techniques for weathering these since they are larger than most models and I don't think my previous weathering method scales well. I've also working out a few different color patterns with them since they are so detailed. I just changed a light in my studio so I think the color balance is a bit bright on the yellow with these.

I'm not positive I'm totally finished with this one, since I might tweak a bit of black and boltgun on the top and bottom. However, despite that I'm pretty happy with this over all. I think my hew technique for chipping paint works much better overall than the previous brush method although there is still a place for that. This model was just to push my overall painting skill so a lot of work was put into highlights and the like. The last two images can be expanded to show a bit more detail. Enjoy.

yes, it is... the new CFL in the light setup is really causing yellows to pop in photos. Right now the color balance is shifted toward green and the light level ended up too intense... I've adjusted the setup again so hopefully that will be fixed when I get the pics of the finished lander up.

Mate,

The lander looks a treat, great work on the painting and the photos. Looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Cheers
Aaron

Ok made a few adjustments, I think I'm going to shelve this one for the time being and if anything decides to pop out at me I'll make more changes. I think I've gotten the color balance issues worked out of the new setup now too so the highlights and shadows should be showing up now and the whole craft shouldn't look quite so radioactive.

Thanks! Nothing is wrong with radioactive, just that's not how it looks in life so I've been trying to get things calibrated.

Beautiful (repeated at least ten times   )

Looks to be a rather bumpy landing coming up

Thanks! Well I forgot to post this in the craziness of my birthday and shipping things off to Cal, but here is a SC stand I did for his IF and didn't get posted:
