Ah, still have the ctan bomb? :)

It's only 5cm now... and on a 4+, I believe.

Anyway, how do people find performance vs different armies. I find with Guard I curse the air blue, with marines I;m fine and with orks it depends on the list.

With both having SR2, there's now a 50/50 chance of getting some Overwatch or Monolith-smashing done before attacks come in.

I think Pylons should have a 150cm range, TKd6. Also, Tomb Spyders should have +3 MW CC attacks.

There, that should help sales nicely.

I lol'd

and I believe 90cm is too much still :;):

Don't want to shorten the range too much though or it won't be appropriate to how the unit is meant to function; backgroundwise Pylons are primarily aimed at attacking spacecraft in orbit are they not?

Well 90cm is supposed to be horizon range in Epic - 35-40km depending on elavation and planet I guess. Low earth orbit range is minimum 200km.

Can explain it away if less power by saying it takes several seconds for the beam to focus, enough to zap spaceships, not enough to bring full power to bear on a combat aircraft.

Hmmm, that isn't bad either.  I think that those 5 point increments will add up too.  For now let's see how the 275 works but if it turns out that the Necrons are getting hammered we can take that suggestion and price it accordingly.  Fair enough?

Mosc, can we get an all inclusive change list (points, stats and army list)?

wouldn't it be easier to have corey update his thread at the top of the necron page to include all the new changes?
since i haven't mentioned wraiths in the last 5 minutes, move them to upgrades.

What was the general consensus on Wraiths? add an extra attack?  I really don't want to get into breaking up the formation types but I think playtesting a stat change would be appropriate.

i think i mentioned earlier (about 50 times) that as a seperate formation they don't offer much. they fill pretty much the same role as the flayed ones. if they were an upgrade they would be a unit that could enter CC. as it is now you only have the pariah in that role and you only get one. if you could add say 3 wraiths it would be a great upgrade and be a lot more useful.

With 40, 35 and 65 point upgrades (currently) is this a huge concern?

Personally I'd like to see those rounded off, with stat adjustments if neccesary.

I agree with this. Especially as the 40 (I think) is the Pariah, which could easily be 50 with their stats.

The 40 is the immortal, which could go to 50 I guess, though it isn't really worth that. 75 points for 2?

The Pariah is 60 points, which currently conveniently fits with the immortal to be 100 points :) This could go up to 75 points and people would still take it, but it could gain disrupt on the shooting attack to represent the psychological effects it causes. Or a drop to 50 points along with a stat drop of some kind.

Other than that the only other non-25 point costs are the Mono and Obo upgrades, which we're definitely changing anyway.

As for wraiths, I much prefered them as an upgrade. I did like the change to first strike, but losing the extra attack was just too much. No matter what the stats, I can't see a 3 base formation being worth 200 points. The seperate formation was another change at the last minute before Raiders was released, and I don't think anyone has ever spoken up in favour of it.

My solution therefore is CC4+, EA(+1), first strike, and a return to availability as an upgrade for Phalanxes. The Recon formation can remain as well if people want to use it, but I don't know why anyone would; Obelisk formations make much better recon formations for less points per base.

could not agee more w/ the wraith comments
but why the concern over pricing units at 25 points? is it really necessary to have these cookie cutter formations? i have never had a problem w/ the list. look at the orcs w/ all of the 35 point pieces, no problems there either. if people are having a problem, what if the monolith formations were priced differently, meaning not 200 and 275? this would allow those oddly priced upgrades a way to fit in evenly at 3000 points.
