Open War is now on 18 participants, and it made me wonder what the biggest ever Epic tournament was (under this edition), anyone know?

London 08 with 20.

Open War 11 should have been 20 too but dropped down to 18 at the last minute.

The first WPS club challenge following the games launch in 2004 was pretty big, but the old WPS site has died and I don't remember how many. (Edit - 24? 26?)

(The results were why experimental armies became a no no
EPIC Final Trophy Positions
1st - John Dale, Tau, DS
2nd - Chris Hayes, Siege Masters, TANELORN
3rd - Nick Simmerson, Speed Freaks, NW
Most Sporting - Che Webster, Orks, GW
Che I remember had a massive stompa horde, but the top 2 armies were experimental)

And I had to play both the top two armies, served me right for taking a great gargant.

Well it printed on my brain that the statement 'dangerous terrain casualties cause blast markers' is not true :)

Besides Tim you were a trend setter, everyone and their aunt has a great gargant now :)

2007 Call to arms had 17.

Since I started at OW4 in Oct 05 I don't remember a larger tournament than London 08 in the UK.

How many were at the IGC Warlords event in Brussels in Feb?

With 6 of the 8 tournaments complete in the UK this year, the average attendance stands at 16.

18 is the highest this year (Full Scales Assault and Open War 11) with the lowest being 12 (Into The Breach).

35 Epic players have attended one or more events.

Not bad considering the games support level!

Apparently the data was moved, but no link created so people can get to the files!

He is going to get it looked at so we will have and answer.

There were 22 players at the 1st IWC 2009 in Brussels.

Representing France, Belgium, UK and Germany.

London '08 had 23 players overall - 20 came to the saturday, and 3 others came to the Sunday event. Current limit is the size of the rooom.
