Sorry Zombocom but personally I much prefer Vaaish's version myself, that looks like a great design.

I like parts of Vaaish's design, and parts of mine, so I may try a cobbled together version combining bits of both.

If anyone wants the 3d file for mine, shoot me an email. I may revisit it and finish detailing the outer pylons, or leave them flat to allow glyphs to go on easier there and on the top bit of the obelisk itself.

Try a marquis cut to the crystal. That will be easier to cast.

Since various crystal shaped beads are extremely easy to find, why not leave that component right out of the casting master?

it will look too much like the monolith at a distance.

"At a distance"?!

What kind of monstrous tabletops are you playing on?!

I'm only anticipating resin casts, so the undercut with the crystal shouldn't be a problem. Having seen the mold jonluke uses for his monolith, which manages to cast with the crystal, vanes and arch attached, I'm not worried about this one.

Gonna try an idea-merge with Vaaish's design now. I like his central obelisk, but I prefer my more detailed outer pyramids, and I'm not a fan of having the vanes on there due to casting difficulties.

I assumed that the vanes around the center obelisk would be cast separately and glued into place on mine.

I guessed so, yeah, but I'm trying to make a one piece design to keep the cost down.
