Just a quick reminder that we are having Epic Day II in Bethlehem, PA on September 12th at The Portal Comics and Gaming.  This is NOT a tournament - just an excuse to play Epic, partake in grudge matches, and generally talk a lot of smack talk.

Right now we have eight people who are definites and the rest are maybe's.  Feel free to come by!  The earlier you show, the more games you'll play. :)

Be sure to have multiple cameras and fully charge batteries... many fully charged batteries!

Good luck to all!

I feel bad for missing it.  It sounded like a great day and an 8th would have rounded things out nicely.  Looking forward to reading some notes and seeing some pictures from the attendees. :D

Now I don't feel as bad about missing it.    I have the excuse of living three and a half hours away, but it would have been nice to have been there.

Not showing up was difficult decision for me.  In the end I had to focus on the bigger picture and do what I felt was right, so I ended up a little further south than Bethlehem.

The event I participated in had slightly more people than Epic Day...  Maybe like ten or twelve people.  :p

so which one was you?! Don't say the one behind the camera, that's just not as much fun :)

When I get a moment I'll upload some pics and write up a couple of rough'n'ready battle reports. Still feel slightly bad for beating Cameron, Ron's son  :;):

Don't feel bad for that kid - he'd throw you to the dogs for a win just as quick as blink at you.  It is actually an interesting thing to watch him play: he is very good but fatigues fast and makes sloppy mistakes in his end game.  As he gets more experienced I am noticing that Cameron's errors are fewer and farther between.  You are forewarned for your next encounter with him.

Sorry but I was the one behind the camera.  There were about a million people behind me too.  It was absolutely amazing.  Here is a pic of me and the Mrs. though taking a break (I'm on the right   ).

Looking forward to seeing the game pics!!

Alright, sorry for the delay, here's the report. It's been a disastrous day at work, so this balances it out a bit :)

This is going to be a bit scrappy as I didn’t take notes during either game, mostly because I didn’t have a pen and paper but also because the first one was quite slow as it was my first Epic game in person for more than 15yrs!

First match up was against Cameron, Ron’s son, playing a ground pounder Marine list:
Terminators+Chaplain
Tacticals+Supreme Commander (Rhinos)
Devastators (Rhinos)
Assault marines
Bike detachment w/ 1 attack bike
Landspeeder typhoon detachment
Land Raider (BTS)
Predator Destructors
Whirlwind battery (4) plus hunter
Thunderbolts

While I was playing Eldar, using Moscovian’s beautiful (and bountiful!) miniatures:
Aspect warhost (4x Striking Scorpions inc. 2 Exarchs, 4x Dire Avengers), loaded on Vampire
Aspect warhost (Shining Spears, 1 Exarch, 1 Autarch)
Guardian warhost (3 heavy and 3 support weapons)
2x Falcons (w/ 2 Firestorms)
Vypers
Rangers (5 I think)
Void Spinner
Phantom Titan
Vampire
Deployment:
Objectives – both blitzes were behind the trenchworks slightly off set from each other. Marine T’n’H were far left (from Eldar perspective, hey I’m writing the report after all ïÂ

First turn:
Initiative – Marines (boo)
Typhoons unload on Rangers, giving a BM. Rangers trigger overwatch, giving a BM.
Phantom idly wanders forward and vaporizes 2 Land Raiders (Cameron was not happy ïÂ

and here's a close up of the left Marine T'n'H (hmm, looks like the Tacs didn't move up until turn 2, must have been a double):
