Other idea: You have to take whole Titan Battlegroups.
A Battle Titan Battlegroup consists of 3 Battle Titans
A Scout Titan Battlegroup consists of two Scout Titans.

i think the average AMTL activation count at 3000 points hangs somewhere around 7, which i was told was average for something like AMTL.

im voting again for no single warhounds, but the blanket restriction on the number of warhounds as per the number of battle titans is also very good.

either way, reducing activations is a huge disadvantage, but i accepted that then i started the army.

would each battlegroup be a single activation?

Only Scout Battlegroups. Or perhabs only if you wanted (but only for Scout Battlegroups! No formations of three Warlords please :D )

At 3000pts.

Maximum of 1 warhound per battle titan - Maximum of 6 Titan activations (max 6 Titans, 3/3 and 4/2, many combinations) with up to 450pts to spend on upgrades and support formations.

Warhounds only in pairs - Maximum of 5 Titan activations and 8 Titans (2 Battle, 3 Warhound Packs) although you can still field primarily Battle titan lists but can only get to 5 titan activations (due to Warhound pairing). At 5 Titan activations there is a maximum of 350pts to spend on support formations and upgrades. Essentially there are more warhound titans available to lists but the odd lone warhound to round out points is gone.

With thanks to Tim the Titan for this suggestion:

1/3 rd (of your points on)  scout titans ?

Debate please!

I don't like this concept because it effectively forces an all titan force into 5 activations assuming warhound packs are taken or will be forced. or if you use the current pricing it makes cheap warlords and reavers the order of the day to fit in six activations. For example,
Reaver
Reaver
Reaver
Reaver
Warhound
Warhound
Sentinels
And 100 points free to upgrade or perhaps take a second sentinel detachment.

I'm not sure this is any better than a force made up of more warhounds since warhounds tend to be more fragile and easily taken down even using forces that don't typically have access to large quantities of MW or TK.

I think that forcing AMTL to take warhounds in packs is a much more effective solution that offers more freedom in list building while achieving the same goals.

So a max of 3 singles or 2 doubles or 1 single 1 double at 3000? How is that much different from now?

Fundamentally I think someone will have to come up with a novel idea to get round their survivability. Tough, regenerating (void shields), fearless etc etc. Preferably an idea that makes Warlords attractive (beyond the 1 blitz guard) too (Epic GT being what it is means move 15 loses out to move 20 80% of the time).

Edit - silly idea, how about exponential costing for titans!

775 Warlord blitz guard, CML
575 Reaver, CML
575 Reaver, CML
500 pack
500 pack

That army will from experience draw against armies a lot, win a bit and lose less. Do you have any other ideas from the rest of the thread to go with it?

Essentially I'd love a way of ensuring that their was a range where you got titans and support and was competitive, but get to much and be uncompetitive.

However even at its worse its still a drawing force and I'd love to know how to inject some dynamism into it.

What about a special rule that says "Because Titans are such precious resources and the loss of even one is a heavy blow to morale, if a titan formation is broken it must use all withdrawal moves to fall back towards its initial deployment zone unless doing so would move the formation off the board."

This will make any titan that breaks fall back despite the fearless rule allowing it to stay put and they must do so away from the enemy table side. Since warhounds are more fragile in this way it would force a 60cm withdrawal should they break. It also means that a titan can't break and sit on the objective to rally and retain control the next turn. Against single warhounds it would make them much more cautious in their approach if they know getting broken means heading back over the board center. Might even get players to take more durable formations like warlords because they won't break as much or retreat as much as the smaller faster formations.

I'm all for that. Warlords are such a points sink that I hardly ever take them.

the only paired warhounds is really good as idea , maybe to create a rules like this : reaver are the most rare kind of titan, so to field a reaver you  have to field also a warlord. In this way we obtain 2 goal : more warlord sight on list , and we see a mixed titan list that is more beatiful to see than an all reaver/warhound list.

Certainly Emperor Titans are the most rare Titans

And either way i don`t see Reavers as THAT revered or rare as your or E&Cs proposal suggest.
