We did have a petition a few years back for FW to start producting more Epic stuff. I can't remember the exact numbers but if FW is still remember that petition I don't think sales would be their main consideration. Most likely they just got plenty of other projects they'd rather do. :(

And regarding the titan size: 10-15% may not sound like much, but take Otterman's Gorgonzola as an example: We're talking millimetres but it makes quite a difference. Imagine the same thing scaled up to Titan size. For a Warlord we'd be talking about a cm. In comparison the height difference between a FW warhound and a Reaver is also about 1 cm (feet to shoulders), so I fear truescale titans (cool as they will undoubtedly be) will be quite noticable on the tabletop.

I think I'll wait and see what comes out of FW before I jump up and down. :;):

If the talk is turning from pet hobby projects to commercial concerns, I'm going to have to be brutally honest: fair play to all the enthusiasm and effort that's gone into the nid sculpts, but I wouldn't buy 'em.  Too many soft details, malproportions and blobby bits (particularly scything talons) take the shine off a set of promising sculpts, especially when considering the kind of fine detail resin can capture. The necrons are good enough, IMO, but the bugs are just the wrong side of the pro/am line.

What's with the 'Text Removed' boxes in the pdf by the way? Was some description taken out for some reason?

That information has been redacted. :)

Mostly it was just number crunching.

Wonder if there's anything we can do to help make this more likely? All try to buy some more FW epic to make sure they know there's still a market and also put in epic requests into their 'what would you like us to make in future?' boxes? I pray these get released in some form, they are fantastic models and I would buy masses of them!

Every time you buy something from FW, put 'Epic Necrons & Tyranids' in the box.

Just a quick question to E&C:  when you had your brief sit-down, did you go over any numbers like revenue potential etc?

I'm curious as to whether the guys at FW were looking at what you brought them with a ballpark idea of what the bottom line for FW would be or if they just wanted to see what you had.

Numbers weren't extensively discussed, as Epic really doesn't sell much in comparison to their Warhammer 40,000 stuff.

Well ... you really can't blame G/W-F/W ... in any economy ... It's all about the $$$.  I'm not being an apologist for them, believe me.  But the bottomline is the bottomline ...  So Frakk'm !  :disagree: :))    I think we are beating a dead horse when it comes to F/W and Epic ... :glare:    They just are not interested ...  Save for the possiblity of making out of scale large expensive titan models.  And that's just an idea at this point, anyway ... :p

Those Necrons are particularly impressive!  Some real skill there.

So as I understand it Forge World's aircraft, like their Imperial Thunderbolts, are modelled in true scale making them larger than their SG counterparts, whereas the Titans are scaled to match.  I have a question though, are Forge World's vehicles true scale or SG scale?  So are their Leman Russes and Chimeras the same size as SG's?  The reason I ask is because I was planning to mix from both.  Thanks for any help.

All of Forgeworld's Epic models*** are true 1:5 scale.

*** Except their Titans (currently).

Those models are absolutely gorgeous, E&C!  :D

I would definitely buy them if FW were to sell them.

From Warseer from aguy who was on the German GD:
On the matter of a rumoured game of titans vs. titans in epic scale: the answer was "I can't say anything concrete about it, but that would be definetely an interesting thing to do". I don't know how to transport the way he said it, including the body language and the eyes, but it felt like a way of trying to say "how do you know this? well yes, we are working on it". Especially concerning the "we do only what we are interested in" passus from before. Personally I wouldn't hold my breath on the topic, but you never should do with rumours, right?

Yesterday I got a few more details off of Tony Cotrell & Owen Branham in a quick sit-down; They intend to do something with Epic in 'about a year'. Most probably it will be a Titan-based game. They invited me to keep sending in pictures of models, as they might be interested in purchasing them then.

I've uploaded some pictures of some of the models the team put together with a little coordination from me. Some models you'll recognize, some will be entirely new to you.

So without further ado, I present to you two semi-complete armies, to which Forgeworld said 'maybe'.

To almost totally mis-quote notable bar-keep Moe Sizlak,

'It was E&C's idea to sculpt those Necrons.

But it was Forgeworld's idea to charge people $5 bucks each for them."

:))

I can't get the doco to work either... I saw some bloomin' loverly Necrons, then it crashed...  :sigh:

To pour more fuel on the fire, there is speculation that the new version of SPACE HULK is a 'trial' for GW to bring back limited runs of classic game.

Therefore, adding 2 to 2 and getting 5  :p  one might possibly put the above speculation with the tidbit of FW *possibly* doing a Titan v Titan game and get...

*whispers it...*

a new version of ADEPTUS TITANICUS???????

(dang, I said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet...   )

Actually, there is already a rumor that FW is indeed planning on doing a Titan vs. Titan game. I'd be happy with limited time re-releases of some classic OOP games, particularly Man 'O War.
