Cool - mass production taking it to the enemy. You know it makes sense when you are shipping to different warzones! :)

Currently working on a slight redesign of the IFV turret to make it a bit more gamer friendly (ie. less prone to breaking)
Once this is done the last turrets will be sent off to bronzing.

Here's a redesgin that didn't quite make the cut...

Many of my GHQ 76mm guns look like that.

Hehe, yeah. That's what we're trying to avoid. Truescale barrels look really nice, but casting issues aside they bend way too easily. The new turret will have a slightly shorter and slightly thicker barrel that will (hopefully) reduce the problem. We're also tinkering a bit with the shape of the turret as it looks a bit boxy currently.

Heya Tom, sir, what's the caster ETA for the first cohort of MBT turrets?

Mr. Boyce will be un-utilized until early next week, so I hope to have the second/third cohorts finalized and zapped off to him by Sunday or Monday.

A little thicker barrel is fine ...   :agree: That's one thing I hate about GHQ ...    :(   To be in scale, the barrels are just too thin. And believe me, I like accuracy.  But I like Gamer-Friendly models too.  Don't do a F/W !!!!   Most of their Epic scale infantry is an accident waiting to happen.  And the Same goes for many of their AFV barrels ... They SUCK !! :disagree:     IMO ...   8v)

The interesting thing was a fellow who'd simply cut off the GHQ barrels and replace them with steel from paperclips -- crude, effective, and neurotic.

The problem of course being that you may not be able to fit a detailed gun muzzle. I wonder if it would be possible to make brass barrels with muzzles similar to the brass fittings you see for model ships. These should definitely be more durable than cast barrels but obviously they'd also be a lot more expensive.

Not a problem for a lot of WWII stuff, up to pzivs and sherman 76s.  (but of course these are the long barrels susceptible to damage.

But he was sufficiently finicky that he probably sliced off and reglued the muzzle brake.  He may even have set up a mini drill press to make sure he could 'pin' that tiny piece of casting.

The hard-core folks on the GHQ website are not to be believed -- it may have been the same fellow who replaced a cast map with a google-maps print-out reduced to 3%.  (I'm not sure if he had a Case Blue and an Objective Moscow version of his little vignette-stand.

These folks are the brethren of the ancients gamers who DIY the spears for their Phalanx.
