Chroma's raised that he'd like to see a 4-strong Hammerhead formation put into my Tau proposal, and I'd like the gauge the community's feelings on his proposal.

Note that the Upgrade option of +3 Hammerhead tanks would not go away regardless of what happened with the main Hammerhead formation.

I'd say it is a great idea, if only so you can transport them in a Manta.

You might consider then changing the upgrade to two, which is a more natural number considering how they were packaged.  It would be awkward to field 7 of them.

Yep certainly possible.

I'd consider setting the basic formation size at 4, with no increase option, and setting the Upgrade at two Hammerheads as a viable solution.

4 Strong basic, increasable to 6, so that you could drop a HHead cadre in a Manta in-game, not just in-fluff.

That was me, because although I tend to be radical, I'm also mindful of not rocking the boat too much.

Seems as if the concensus is for a change however, and I'm keen to provide what the majority asks for, as always.

I'll leave the vote running for a few days (weekends tend not to see much traffic on the boards), but if opinion stays as-is, I can see a 4/2 split being adopted.

Actually I'd prefer something different - what about a 3 strong hammerhead +1 Skyray formation? Manta transportable. Plus of course the option with the same FW wise. A support 5 stand +1 drone + 3 develfish + 1 skyray formation.

I really wish people who are voting for the "base 6" would post why... under a "base 4" setup, you could still get a six Hammerhead formation if you wanted one.

I haven't voted as I haven't tried E&C list yet so I really don't know which option I'd think was best.

However, I might guess that some people voted for the 6 strong formation in order to upgrade it to the really big HH formation (9?).

I could see that as being something special and unique to the Armoured themed army list (which under my proposal can make a formation of 12 Hammerheads if you upgrade it all the way!).

I've never seen that kind of large Hammerhead formation ever even mentioned before... it's a lot of points and really hurts the Tau "activation curve"... anyone used a "Sledgehammerhead" formation like that before?  *laugh*

I'm with Clausewitz (haven't voted due to no play recently) but I could see that those voting for a 6 tank formation could be doing so because you lose an upgrade slot to make 6. Just a theory.

Just a question E&C. You have costed the HH upgrade at 200 when they should be 175. Any reason for the discrepancy?
