Studdering Dave has held the Portal in Bethlehem, PA for us Epic freaks once more.
September 12th (Saturday).

Once again no initial plans for the event.  Last time we played some big games and tournament games and thirteen people showed up - many were locals but other drove from New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and even Upstate New York!  This time I am thinking we can play some grudge matches and small scenarios, all depending on who shows up.

IF we get a good mix of people coming from the Northeast crowd and the Maryland crowd, Ron and I will introduce the American Epic Cup - quite possibly the first Epic trophy here in the States which can be claimed by any group of players who shows themselves worthy in battle.

Please post here, PM, or email me to let me know if you will be in attendance.  Last time we had an excellent time and I hope that we will get a good mix of returning attendees and people who missed it last time.

i'm a definate. no work this time. BTW like the name. we need a cheesy tag line for each of these events.
so if we win the trophy does each member get to keep it for a day, like the Stanley cup? not that any of you outside of PA need to worry about it because you don't have a chance!

MNB,

Teams keep the Cup until the next Epic event, so that could mean months of bragging rights and trash talking.  Details are still in the works but I have a funny feeling you will know about them before anyone else (being that you've been drafted into helping design it). 8v)

I actually hope that the trophy gets passed around some, but I just fear the rest of the Eastern Seaboard is not capable of competing on the same level as us.  'Tis a shame, really.

I've seen brain dead squirrels play epic better than you boobs.

Also, your fathers smell of elderberries.

i'm assuming someone got the contact info for all of those new people that were at the last one.
are we going to have enough room? supposedly you guys only had 2 spare tables in the whole store. studdering dave is supposed to have one new person, plus myself, hopefuly kalpesh, and if dave isn't too scared.... i mean at another "wedding" then that will fill the those tables. and i guess some of the guys from baltimore had a few other guys that couldn't make it. we're going to be pretty cramped.
if it does i wouldn't mind sitting out and letting other people (who have more then a 10 minute drive) take part.

If anyone is worried about not being able to play, don't be.  Last time we had one table left open and the chances of EVERYONE that showed last time coming again PLUS the people who didn't make it is pretty slim.  There will always be lilly-livered cowards like Dave players with legitimate reasons who just can't make it.

What I also may do is reserve one table for short scenarios (Chroma's scenarios) to keep things moving.

I'm seeing about attending, if only to see what rule "interpretation" Mosc. tries to get past me.

Non Space Marine skimmers get a +4 to Firefight in assaults, don't they?

Tell you what, I'll play with half my brain tied behind my back, just to make it fair. <--- shamelessly stolen from one of our great American heroes

I really do feel bad about that whole thing on range stretching, but I was the victim of it moreso than the instigator so it shouldn't count against me.

bump
anyone else find out if they can make it or not?
anybody have any suggestions as to what they would like to play? as mentioned earlier in the thread this will be a much more relaxed atmosphere so it doesn't have to be just 3000 pts tourney games.

It's still four weeks away.  Don't fret. My guess is we won't be short on people.  I'll email everyone mid-week to run some ideas past them and post them here as well.
