Iain asking me how much time I put into modelling / painting a day really made me think about how lucky I was with my current setup.
I saw Stormeer's workbench photo in his briefcase and was intrigued by how tidy it all looked & yet how similar it seemed to my own (everything easy to access etc.). It made me think about how lucky I am once again.
When we had an extension done to our (my parents) House a 2 years ago, I paid for my new room to be kitted out, as its now known, as "a workshop with a bed in it". It was sensible at the time as my work revolved (and still does 2/3 days a week!) around miniatures. It really does make a difference to the amount I manage to churn out.
Very few of you will be interested in this (hence its in the OT area!), but in case there's anyone who is, here's a brief tour.....
1: Filing cabinets full of miniatures. Commisions are stored in here if there's a wait before painting as are a few of the thousands of miniatures awating paiting from my collections, either for sale or display. 2:Rows of little trays full of sorted "bits" for modelling & conversions. There's also two HUGE boxes on the top of the shelves & more in the loft, but the trays contain the most commonly useful parts (weapon catagories, tracks, tyres, generic heads / arms etc). 3: Stereo for pumping out plenty of loud tunes & essential for painting. Accompanied by some of my larger WIP's. 4: Another tray, containing a couple of epic armies (Orks and SM awaiting speed painting for E:A) as well as tools & paperwork bits (invoices etc). 5:Draw for larger tools & space above for glue pots & a tray full of spare paints. 6 Many containiners full of bare lead (2 more shelves above of the same!) 7:Gaming Mags & catalogues & spay cans. 8:Books. These are all fiction. My office (where I am now) has all my "real" military reference books. 9: Hole under desk supposedly for feet. Actually filled with all manner of flocks, sands, Lichens, rubble & static grasses for basing. 10:Some current projects, big bags of bases, more "bits" & more unpainted lead. 11:The (very cluttered) painting desk. Currently in occupation are the paints for the Speed IG, 26 Warriors of Rohan, yet more Fantasy Dwarves, WHFB skinks, parts for epic demonhunters..the list goes on....
Where are the paints? I paint al over the place teaching people at my local club, doing demos & stuff so have a carry case dedicated to carrying my favourite colours with just enough space for a few WIP's.

And finally, I've been asked what setup I use for my photos in the past so whilst I was at it I too a zoom out shot of what I was shooting (go figure...). The figure is my "Leviathan" (aka OGRE when not in an IG army...) as seen in my Speed IG thread. I simply place the "target" on a couple of sheets of paper on my bed with my room lights (halogen spots) on normally & snap away. In case you were wondering, the board in the background is full of the Speed IG. It gets lifted off every night & slides under my gaming table (see below ? )

So, for anyone who's actually read all that, I pity you for being as bored as me for writing it all.
