I think they look good, but more power to ya if you want to get the detail refined. :D

Does Milliput or Magic Sculp work with vulcanized rubber molding?  It would definitely be a better medium than GS for the type of detail you are looking for.

Ah...im afraid ive never actually seen a 40k obliterator in real life, so id just assumed they were terminator size from the pic on the GW site :vo  :vo

I also don't have any chaos Inf, so i just worked to regular loyalist termie size. Ill consider making a bigger version*, and im also thinking about non-orders motorcyclists and non-orders jump troops for more 6mm figure practice. But the next priority will be the copper arachnid mould i think.

*Edit: i think id do this as a total re-sculpt rather than just padding them out, as this would give the details more room.

Obliterators in Wh40k are just the same size as the new Terminator plastics but just a bit broader iirc.

They're broader and taller IIRC, but I don't have examples to take a photo of unfortunately.

Note that the Obliterator is quite hunched over and is still taller than the Terminator, and still stands considerably taller than the Terminator.

I agree. His knees are bended and he has more mass than the Terminator.
I would guess the Obliterator is about 10-20% bigger.

I think they look fine.

Milliput may be a better medium in this scale: less bounce

But for hige sprawling masses of muscle and metal, heh. i like.

I have been told by the experts at Smooth-On that the best way to make something like this would be to cast them in a pressure pot.  If you do this you need to make sure that your molds are done in a pressure pot as well.

I never bothered since I don't have a compressor just lying around and have far too many obligations to justify buying one, but if you have access I'd say go for it.  A pressure pot goes for about $50-75 (pretty cheap).

Mosc: you need to get a compressor as well, which is significantly more expensive than the pressure pot.

Re Pressure stuff: I think this is probably a bit out of my league heh, but i seem to remember you can hire them from tirantis in London. Could 1 compressor be used for both this and to power an airbrush? that would make it a more justifiable purchase.

I just bought a Compressor, Vacuum Chamber and Pressure Pot.

If you're in London you're welcome to use mine once it has arrived.

Where are you going to put it? They're not small.

Thanks for the offer  .

I’m not in London but I do visit occasionally and its not too far by train. Ill see how the arachnid and cutlery monsters mould, it could be useful for them. Presumably it only works for resin not metal?  Or can it be used with higher melt metals?
