Hmmm could it be that you guys confuse speed with manouverability? Or i?

Speed = moving fast from one point to another.

Manouverability = turning during a short time. The narrover the curve of turning the better. Turning on the spot is higher manouverbility than turning with a curve.
So a stationary vehicle which turns only on the spot is more manouverable than an aircraft which is forced to turn in a curve.

But neither speed nor manouverability have anything to do with skimmer itself; and I don't think skimmer is appropriate for Dreadclaws.

Jump packs seems much more in line with their "tactical" movement after a drop.

No we are not confusing manueverability with speed. We simply disagree.

Turning on the spot is higher manouverbility than turning with a curve.

By your definition, the Dreadclaw is then highly manueverable, as it does not need to turn at all to change direction, and instead uses lateral thrusters to manuever, and is able to change its direction of flight with a turning circle of nil.

BlackLegion/E&C - perhaps you can agree to disagree as this has been going back and forth for 4 pages with both of you still no closer to each others view

I disagree that we haven't gotten anywhere, as we have come to understand each other's views over the past couple of pages (or I have come to understand BL's views more fully at any rate), even if we don't actually agree with each other's opinion it was a worthwhile discussion.

I don't see us agreeing soon however. :)

On the other hand it's been interesting seeing all the different spellings of the word 'manoeuvrable'.

Holy crap! So much brain power wasted on something so simple.
No wonder things take so long to finish up here.

Sorry guys don't mean to step on your freedom of speech but you discuss things so close to the Nth degree I end up feeling like I wish I'd never asked the question in the first place!

Quit yo jibber jabber!  (thanks Mr T!)  :vD

Carry on....  :agree:

I think my last counter-point has put BL into a logic loop anyway.

No. I was afk. And i was aware that the manouverability explanation was somekind of a coutner argmument for me but didn't solve it becaus time ran out.
Have to go soon anyway. Will think about this some more :)

..I don't see anything wrong with Chroma's idea tbh, but still worry that this will (if it gets picked up) send the nearly done Black Legion back into heavy development.

I don't expect this idea to go untested into the ERC armybook project this year, but it could be something to work on during the next two-year playtest cycle for possible adoption in 2011.

I also see Chroma's idea as acceptable.

I think the jetpacks option in better than having it a skimmer.

Cool, I was unaware that there was a grander scheme than developing individual lists, my bad
