".....Duuuude!"

DESPOT: paints are just citadel but i've been watering them down to about 1/2 slash 3/4 consistenct recently to get a smoother finish.
For reference i've used codex grey as a basecoat, applied a wash of dark grey to shade (this is the step you can see in the 9th of july post) and then the two main camo's go over that before gentle highlighting.

Progress from today: lighter grey camo nearly done.  Darker grey and highlights to go before detailing and finishing:

Off to work  now and then to a folk fest on the hills for the weekend so work shall resume sunday.
About 3/4hrs on these thus far.

Don't know how much difference can be gleaned from this photo and the last but after a weekend of folk music festing this mornings work has been blocking in the shadow grey areas.

camo hihglights, metals and unit markings to go and we're done!
Would the good Mr Dillen like any weathering on his moon tanks? Oily stains near exhausts, dust around the tracks and such, or would he like them 'clean'?

BEing dragged into work now (can't say no to the cash alas even if it is only £28...:-( ) but expect work to continue this evening :-)

Those look great! No weathering for the time being. The situation of Nectaris implied a short campaign with ready access to automated factories along the way.

We can also surmise some sort of electrostatic self-washing to flush off regolith dust.

Aye, those were my thoughts to be fair; the moon is probably pretty clean as far as warfare goes!

Well, a fair few hours spent on these yesterday day, evening and this morning means that we're done with the tanks!
Behold: Ottery Nectaris Goodness:

Bison MBT

Slagger Tank Hunter
Hadrian Self Propelled Artillery Piece

Detail Shots (Note company and tank markings, Artillery belong to a separate Company)

Scale Comparison (What scale are these things anyway?!)

No idea how long these took in total but they sure were fun! I'd love to see/work on some metal version as the resin does tend to have imperfections that i was unable to fix without scrubbing out other details and attempting to rebuild with greenstuff but i couldn't have rivalled the neatness of the rest of the models so would have looked offish.  Several of the initial test pieces were also placed in brake fluid to strip a paint job i wasn't happy with; DON'T DO THIS! Otter Resin doesn't like it and you'll notice that two slagger barrels had to be remade. Additionally this means that on several (3) pieces some details are slightly less sharp but all in all I'm happy with them :-)

All that remains then is to paint those verstrii ships and to get these babies flying across to the atlantic and back to their aquatic owner.
At the end of this whole process I'll be able to provide some higher quality photo's taken by a friend.

I would've noticed them earlier if I wasn't five hours behind you.  :vD

Cheers chap; the macro does indeed pick out a few little mistakes here and there but, as people say of most of my photography these look a lot better in the flesh :-)
Seeing my folks for the weekend so expect to have the whole thing finished next week and being shipped by the weekend.
