I worked on this a while ago, and thought it'd be a shame not to upload it now for people to look at, considering I wrote a lot of background text for it.

Hive Fleet Leviathan v1.04

It was designed to be a stripped-down Tyranid list.
Jervis liked the Exocrine Carnifex concept.

Nice cover

Now, to get to some questions:

Is this deliberate as it is different to the 9.2.1 list as it includes March?
Tyranid formations gain a +2 modifier to dice rolls when taking Engage, March or Rally tests.

I like the look of it. I just need to sit down now and work a force out.

I wouldn`t include March to the Relentless rule.

Fixed Spawning values? Hmmm. Ok less dice rolling but with 3 Hive Tyrants in a formation you have to kill at least 10 Gaunts to have ANY effect on the swarm even if you try to snipe them out with AT shots.

Nice idea with the Synapse Symbiote upgrade.

Not sure if i like the change to the Raveners wich makes them only a better but more expensive Hormagaunt.

The Brood Nest is an interesting variant of the Synapse Node.
I like the Hierophant stats. Interesting that it turns into a Dominatrix with the relevant upgrade.

With dropping the Tyranid specific BTS goal Tyranid Warriors as Infantry is no longer a problem.

Page 12 (the last) : "Hive Fleet Leviathan armies have a strategy rating of 2." should be "Genestealer Cult armies have a strategy rating of 2.".

"Extra Cultists : Six Infantry units" sould be "Extra Cultists : Six Imperial Guards units".

While I generally like the stats and fixed formation structure, the list is min-maxable to hell. You can get something like 17 harridans if you really want...

Looks good, is the cover a Stugmeister? It is very, very good! However there's a little area that stands out to me as not being as good as it deserves to be and that could be improved; I feel the robes of the Adeptus Mechanicus really need to be a bit darker, more realistic and at least very slightly grimey looking (if they were a model I might give them a coat of thin brown wash with a little black in). At the moment they're too clean, and comically reminiscent of Father Christmases! The pure white edging also plays a part in this and doesn't look right - look at the Delphan Gruss Adeptus Mechanicus model for Inquisitor and you'll see that the whitish robes are not infact white, but a shade of pale cream shaded with brown. Otherwise excellent though; the tyranids, titan and tracked combat servitor types are great!

Glyn: yes, it's a stug. I did do a darkened/dirtied version for E&C but he seems not to have used it. It was intended to be the cover for E&C's next suppliments, AMTL vs Nids.

Yes, it was meant to be very different to the ERC Tyranid list; I wanted to see how many Special Rules could be removed and still have it feel like a Tyranid army, similar to the French approach.

Taking three Hive Tyrants in a Swarm quickly becomes expensive.

With dropping the Tyranid specific BTS goal Tyranid Warriors as Infantry is no longer a problem.

Indeed, as Swarms are fixed formations the BTS Special Rule could go ; Synapse becomes important for trying to make Initiative rolls instead.

Hmmm I've accidentally uploaded a slightly wrong version.

The version I meant to upload has a restriction 'Each Synapse Brood must purchase at least two common Broods'.

That could maybe even go to 'three common broods' if two allows too much popcorning.

It is ; If I ever did the AMTL vs. Tyranids supplement project, it would form the basis for the front cover.

E&C

In this list, where are the following?:

Malefactor
Dactylis
Haruspex

Also, the Exocrine Carnifex, are our Exocrine minis to be used for these or should exocrine be added to the above list (I notive the stats are similar)?

Just wondering as you have included units that do not exist in miniature yet left ones that do out.

Thanks

I like the list very much!!!! TW as infantry, Tyrant Guard, various Carnifexes, ... great!!

But I have some doubts:
Doesn´t Winged Hive Tyrant have Venom Cannon??? if not, why is FF 5+?
Shouldn´t Gargoyles be faster??
Too many Reinforced Armour units??

If Spawning rule won´t be removed, what about using the necron rule to represent it?? I think it´s an easier and simpler way (for Brood(1)units).
