Latest OGBM?

i made a preliminary list. someone told me 7-8 activations for 3000 points is average, so 9 seems very decent.

You have 3 BTS goals.  You need to adjust so only one qualifies.

Also, you don't have a Great Gargant, so you don't get a Supreme Commander.

I would suggest a Grotnought with the Supastompa instead of a Stompa.  It will benefit you to have 2 WEs instead of WE/AV when it comes to hit allocation and keep the heavy weapons on the Supastompa in play longer.

With 3 formations of fightabommas and a flakwagon with every gargant, you're pretty heavy on AA defense.  You might consider rearranging some of those.  One option would be to drop all the flakwagons and either buy another formation of fightabommas or increase the size of your formations.  You could switch the Stompa/Grotnought to one of the Gargants to give you a single BTS goal.  12 FBs can throw down a lot of AA attacks.

In play, you will need to plan your deployment and your first move or two so that your Gargants end their turn within the Grot Attack range of as many objectives as possible without compromising your tactical position.

thanks for the advice. i only own 9 bommas so i cant up them any more. ill try to work a great gargant in there for sure. what is a decent activation count for a 3000 point big mob?

Last time I played my list was something like...

Great Gargant
Kustom - Zzaps

So that's 8 activations.  Even though the army is almost always on the low end, the activations are pretty hard to suppress or break so it tends to maintain activations after other lists have lost several.

As far as that particular list, with 4 Gargants it gives a lot of flexibility on dropping Grot Attacks without messing up your overall strategic position (which often needs to be charge forward on line, or close to it).  I can usually get all 4 T&H objectives covered.  The Forts usually survive, because the enemy's anti-WE capacity is quite strained and because the mobs can hide behind the Gargants when not in action.  That keeps the mobs mobile for objective grabbing or initiating assaults if the Gargants make it to support range.

Activation count could be increased by dropping a Kustom for a Supastompa and adding another small formation.  There are plenty of support slots.

how does the replacement for the kustom gargant work? say i want to make a kustom gargant with a super zap gun (taking the bigger gun option when i pay for the mek) what gets replaced?

You can't use that upgrade on a Kustom Gargant.  Bigga Gunz replaces a Big Gun.  The Kustom has no Big Guns to replace so it doesn't qualify.

It's an intentional restriction.  The Kustoms are pretty firepower-heavy as they are.  When they were allowed more freedom in kustomization, they could really be tricked out.

If you want a Zzap-y Kustom Gargant, you have to take the 2-Zzap option.

oh ok so adding a bigmek to a normal gargant or grat gargant gives me the option to kustomize a bit, the kustom gargant doesnt change. i see now.
