Pretty fair and useful comparison.  I don't know if he is still with Drunken Dwarves but ones of the guys, Laz, is an old Army buddy.

That was a great review. I agree on all points, so it is down to people's own taste. :) Also one point for US is that it is so simple game to start, so that tutorial games are really easy to handle.

I watched it get played at my game club meet last month and must say it looks like a lot of fun. I am going to be getting into it.

I've been eyeing this off since it was released - its time more than anything else for me.

I think that when I finsih my Masters degree at the end of this semester, I am going to treat myself to the mega-starter bundle.

...plus Undead and Aerial Pirate Fleets should be out by then too!  :wow:

I got the Mega Bundle, and I think it is pretty good value for money.

The rules are easy to pick up, and the fleets are quite distinct.

You will need at least 20nr dice and rather a lot of counters though, so be warned!

On the mention of counters; I recommend the Litko counters for fantasy naval games.  Much nicer that card stock.

I actually used Litko's Custom 20 system to make my own as I like the colours better. It also allowed me to pick my own shape for things like Bridge Hit markers.

Thanks Charad!

I've also found a good in-depth review at the "d6 generation" podcast, in episode 20

How does it compare to that legendary card/counter/model combo known as Man O War?

TRC, there is some discussion comparing these two games for few pages and some links too. For short, US is more simpler and quicker system, but it all comes down to taste differences. you know... :)

Your bases look great. I really need to work on mine.  I did make my own heavy cruisers though:
