Hi All,

I knocked this together in pretty much an evening in a frenzy of unscripted creativness.

It's quite a bit bigger than the original Leviathan which I alays felt was too small (actually its almost the size of a capitol Imperialis   ). It's made mostly out of plasticard without any real base, the tracks came from a micro machines tank, as did the huge plough (I love the irony of a 15ft plow bearing an imperial icon). Everything in green has been hacked off of a chaos bfg cruiser whilst the doomsday cannon is a combo of the clicky bit from a  biro and an old ink cartridge. I took a lot of inspiration from Warmaster Nice's superb gothic creation and this one here which I'm sure belongs to somebody else here.

I've just slapped a bit of black wash over it in an attempt to pick out the panels on it, I'm hoping to start painting it proper tomorrow/later today. Let me know what you think

Love it! Agree that it looks a little front heavy, but that gives it the feel of a hammer.
I actually really like that colour scheme as well, even though it's just what happened to be stuck on.

I agree about the front heaviness thing,

I just can't think of anything to put on the back to even it up. I toyed about with the idea of a satelite dish but it really didn't seem to work well (besides which I want to use that particular bit for an ordinatus).

I think I might have suffered from a dimension/scale point of view from having never actually seen a Leviathan in the flesh.

Nice build and I really like the scale your Leviathan is at compared to the horribly undersized antique that is the original model.

That back deck would be ideal to affix some infantry to, or heck, have some fun and slap a Hydra turret there.

Sticking something landing on the pad would make it look a little less front heavy. Otherwise some kind of rear segmented section?

My original plan for that was to have the back deck long enough and wide enough to fit 2 infantry stands on the back (I figured it'd be a cool way of showing what it's transporting. Trouble is my rather disorganised, chaotic and frankly ork'ish approach to things like this meant that it's fractionally too small in both directions   I do have some spare DRM infantry thanks to receiving an unexpected bonus 10% in the number I ordered (44 in packs of 40) so I may try and pose some up there.

For now though I've slapped on a coat of halfords black primer and a very thin coat of dark red/brown. Can't wait to really get my teeth into painting it.

Thanks for the comments guys. I always feel slightly nervous about posting anything up here (particularly if it isn't CAD   ) because of the high standards I see every day here.

No worries. It looks really nice. I think anyone who have tried building stuff by hand knows the challenges this presents compared to CAD work. Fingers just aren't as precise as a computer where you can keep o adjusting untill everything is exactly where you want it  

I agree about the slight front heavyness. Have you thought about perhaps reducing the length of the big gun barrel a bit? I like the use of the EW artillery for the turret. Maybe the circular disc it sits on should be slightly lower to make it a bit more streamlined and look more tied into the hull? Overall it looks really nice though. I particularly like the use of the Chaos Cruiser hull bits on the side. I've been thinking about using those upside down for a cathedral superstructure on a BFG Dreadnought as well.
