I suspect that if you don't take the time to make the robot fully compatible with the expectations coming from both epic and 40k, your efforts might not be fully appreciated.

I believe the AMTL rules will remain as they are to support older models that people already own, but E&C's and Jonluke's titans will follow the Apocalypse weapon restrictions.

Design Decisions:
Internal Shoulder Mounts:
These were an interpretation of the Lucius Warlords shoulder mount weapons, designed to house all the available weaponry that fits an "Apocolypse" version Warlord, they will be a seperate piece of armour so the apoc missile launcher will fit the same mount either without the enclosing armour or with the armour space wider to fit around the gun - owners decision I guess.
The internal shoulder mount maneuverability:
The armour pieces on the internal shoulder mounts were designed as seperate from the carapace in order to insure aiming freedom. The pieces of armour are mounted to their own joint and will swivel along with the weapon, allowing all sorts of interesting firing positions.
The internal Shoulder mounts and "Main" weapons systems:
Although this has been a design intended to fit the "Apocolypse" limitations, the armour pieces of the shoulder mounts are seperate from the rest of the model, so larger weapons could potentially be fielded in those positions without the armour, much like the apoc missile launcher.
I shall ASAP get my grubby hands on a weapon from the reaver to be able to make an accurate scale, but until then it's the best estimates we can get from photos, so the weaponry will be; Plasma Destructor, Vortex Missile, Volcano Cannon, and other non-FW guns.

Is the intention to modify the current AMTL list to match the limitation imposed by 40k:apocalypse?

Althouh I personally would like to see this happen (I prefer Epic to be a modern reflection of Warhammer 40,000 instead of a reflection of the Warhammer 40,000/Epic of ten years ago...) doing so would involve asking people to cut up their triple-Quake Reavers, etc. and that's a big no-no.

So the AMTL rules will remain just as flexiable as they are today, unless serious balance problems are found, in which case limiting the weapon loadouts to the 40k restrictions could be a good balancing mechanism.

Anyone ever thought that the exposed tubing on titans was a bit of a design flaw?
Here's the Large-walking-robot armoured tubing (requires a little more detail.).

The position is just to show that the legs have movement, not in any way an indication of where they will be positioned on the final piece.

Wow,

I was a little dubious of the design at first,I just couldn't see how it would work or fit in with other titans.

But this is absolutly superb! Seeing it with the thighs on really helped.

Yes, it is a design flaw ...    A big one ... just one of many of their machinations, not to mention the entire Titan concept, that is just plain silly ...  However ... I have over 20 Imperial Titans of all types ... :vD  8v)

I agree, funny how we love silly things, but they're also awesome and cool!

Can you put the guns back in for the mockup?

JL and E&C

Are these projects collabourative? Have you discussed relative scale between the 3 walking robots you're planning as well as standardising weapons and or mounts?

Here's the guns, also mocked in:

E&C's small walking robot is a lone venture he set out upon, which inspired me to pick up what was really a joint project, certainly a joint design between the two of us; the large walking robot seen here.

We've also remained in fairly constant contact during the build process of this robot. Weapon mounts are hopefully standardized if they will fit and work within the design, scale is averaged to be correct but may change due to aesthetic preference.

The small walking robot is scaled directly 1/5th from 28mm scale. Perfect for Epic.

Yes we're collaborating ; Jonluke and I have been discussing the design of his large walking robot on and off for many months.

You'll note that those are my small walking robot guns on the carapace there, and we're hoping that his arm weapons for the large walking robot will be compatible with the medium sized one that I intend to build, so we're sharing parts back and forth in order to speed things up for both of us.

Perfect.
