Both the warhound and reaver look like they are hunched over, where as the warlord has had a move 'standing-up-straight' look too it (at least since the Mk 2, anyway).

From the mk2 onwards all versions of the warlord have effectively been lucius pattern. The only mars pattern one is the beetleback, and this is clearly inspired by it.

Compare the FW Epic Lucius Reaver to the FW 40k Mars Reaver. There's quite a difference in design between the styles.

You still want to see truescale 10mm titans when this is truescale 6mm?

Is that a trick question? I want this guy truescale 28mm!

So, Moronghul is implying my spelling and/or grammar is appalling?

Crikey!  Nope, Warmaster Nice has a lolcat for his profile pic!  Although I like the different interpretation of the meaning too.

Ok, I've done a very brief mock-up of a weapons loadout - at E&C's request and utilizing his vulcan mega bolters. See attached image.

On the other points, I see where people are coming from on both sides of the Reaver carapace discussion. I've been basically bringing this from beetleback and reaver into the larger titan. The reaver and warhound carapace pieces are almost the same shape, the reaver is larger of course but the really big difference is the design on top. Where the reaver really deviates from the warhound is the standing position, shoulder pads over the weapon mounts, and secondary carapace pieces. I'm attempting to continue that style of development, so:
Warhound has no shoulder pads.
Reaver has Shoulder pads.
My one gets enclosed weapons and shoulder pads.

Warhound has a short, hunched stature.
Reaver is taller, straight-legged and more imposing - but still hunched.
Mine is taller still, much bulkier legs and a more upright position and less hunched, though still got a bit of that.

Weapon mounts go without saying, this one has 4.

Anyway, keep the comments coming, they're all useful. I'll see about making the main carapace and enclosing shoulders into a single piece. Later.

I love, love, love the shoulder mounts. Simultaneously original yet totally in line with the mars warhounds - a great reimagining of the Warlord.

I realise they're mock-ups, but the main weapons aren't very inspiring. Since the shoulder mounts are sort of small, I would make the main weapons BIGGER. They need to have some seriously large upper arm/elbow joints and project a lot further forward in general (around 1.5 to 2 times as further forward). There should be space in the main weapons for whole crews of servitors and gunners.

Forgeworld Titans only have one servitor per gun, attached to the inner hull near their respective weapon.

Perhaps, but the Warlord has more as I recall. Anyway, the point is I want great big elbow joints and weapon mounts!

We're discussing the possibility of scaling the whole size down a little (From 4.5" to 4" tall) in order to make the weapons more impressive.

Currently those quake cannons have 7mm bores.

And they are not yet properly to scale or designed correctly.

A Warlords crew has over the years fluctuated a lot, but generally consists of between 4 and 8 servitors, 1 or 2 techpriests, a princeps, two to four moderati, and security staff sometimes.

If we follow the basis over from the FW 40k titans, then a techpriest, 4 servitors, 2 moderati and a princeps is all you're gonna get.

The Imperator has been mentioned to have crew of hundreds. Including an astropath.

Mate,

Love your action, this is fantastic, dont know if you need to scale down to make the weapons look more impressive. Dont we have different sizes of Vulcans from Warhound to Warlord.

Cheers
Aaron

Utterly badass... Watching with a LOT of interest.
Awesome to see such a stunning original design being produced here with such care and attention to detail.

The thing that doesn't work for me is that from the looks of things the shoulder mount weapons have little room to aim; in other warlords i've imagined them to be able to move somewhat for separate aiming.

Hmmm i think the shoulders with the weapon mounts should be a bit broader. So the weapons could traverse better and makes the Warlord more impressive. :)

I have some questions about your design decisions.

Why did you decide to go with internal shoulder mounts instead of the external mounts that the original warlord had? I only ask this because the FW reaver has an external mount for its carapace weapon, and I thought you guys were planning on this thing being interoperable with the reaver.

I.e. are you guys going to make a different version of the apocalypse missile launcher to fit into the shoulder mounts?

I realize that you are taking cues from the apocalypse rules (which have different weapons available for the carapace slots than for the arm slots), but it seems like a serious deviation from past epic rules. Is the intention to modify the current AMTL list to match the limitation imposed by 40k:apocalypse? Not that I would mind NOT having  to face 4 x volcano cannon warlords or 3 x quake cannon reavers, I'm just curious where this is going. I suspect that if you don't take the time to make the robot fully compatible with the expectations coming from both epic and 40k, your efforts might not be fully appreciated.

It does look awesome, though. Good job and keep up the good work.
