Hey
Could anyone let me know how big/long the forge world aeronautica imperialis hellblade, hell talon and harbinger models are?

Any other dimensions for these models (or other AI minis in general) would also be useful as im planning on some scratch building.

Thanks :D

Apoc.

I can help with two out of the three when I'm home from the beach (they were out of stock one of the smaller two aircraft types, so I have it on back order).

Which other aircraft did you want measured? I've got most sorts.

Thanks GlynG – why are you on the forums while at the beach? :p

Other aircraft id be interested in measurement wise would be:
Lightning, thunderbolt, marauder Tiger shark, Barracuda, manta, Nightwing, vampire, Ork bomber

-I realise that is most of the range, but if you measure a few that’d be great.

I'm visiting the town of my birth (Bridgend) and when my plan A for the second day of meeting a friend fell through, I decided to walk down to the beach instead. It's an hour and a half walk there and I'm on my own, so plenty of time each way to browse the forums (I have a Blackberry so can go online anytime anywhere, albeit a bit slowly). It's all good so long as I shield the phone from the drizzle.

I only have a Marauder Destroyer, which's similar to the Bomber, just with a different tail section. I have Ork Fighta-Bommerz for sure, possibly Ork Bommerz too, possibly not, I can't remember offhand. Got all the others though.

Which bits did you want measured? Just overall width and length or lengths of particular bits?

Overall length and/or wingspan just so I have something to scale the FW site photos from.

Enjoy the drizzle - I  just got a few spots of rain  on/in a RTV silicon mould id left to vulcanise outside  :sigh:

Helltalon: length 6.8cm, width 3.6cm, depth 0.9cm. Depth of wings 2.5mm
Harbringer: length 17.3cm, width 12cm, depth 4cm (due to the out wing bits, main body up to around 2cm depth)

Manta: length 12.5cm, width 16.5cm, depth 3cm
Tigershark length 4.5cm, width 7cm, depth 0.9cm
Baracuda length 3.7cm, width 4cm, depth 0.9cm

Lightning: length 4cm, width 4.9cm, depth 4.5cm. Front wing length of wing from main body to before the lascanon 2cm, rear length 2.6cm
Thunderbolt length 5cm width 5.5cm, depth 1.5cm
Marauder (Destroyer): length 8cm, width 8.3cm, depth 1.8cm (not including landing legs which I’ve not glued on yet) winglength from body to tip 3.6cm

Nightwing length 3.7cm, width 5.3cm, depth 1.3cm (main body 0.5cm deep)
Vampire length 7.8cm, width 8.5cm, depth 2.5cm (main body depth 1.5cm)

I only have Ork Fightaz, no Bommerz.

Best of luck with that! Scratchbuilding aircraft and getting them to look half way decent will be tough I expect, particularly the curved Tau and Eldar craft.

Is water bad for a mould? I don't know much about them.

Wow thanks GlynG :agree: , that lot should keep me going for a while, might have time to start drawing some templates up in illustrator during the week.

Anyone else able to do some fast measurements for a Hell blade?

Water isn’t bad for a mould (as long as its not inside) since the rubber repels it anyway, its just going to have an interesting external texture (I say going to, its still going, due to a reluctance to read instructions combined with not having used the stuff since I was 14, meaning I got the catalyst ratio a *bit* wrong.)
