Why have a two warhounds with VMB and TLD and waste half the firepower when firing at an infantry company or tank company? Best to have designed to cope with one type of target.
I'm sorry, I guess I don't understand how it's a waste of firepower when both weapons have both AP and AT capability. I'll agree that the TLD is
better at AT and the VMB
better at AP, but both can fire at all targets.
Its all about how many hits you do over the turn. Shooting AP3/AT5 weapons at AVs isn't going to net as many hits.
If you can shoot all your AP3 weapons at infantry, and all your AT3 weapons at AVs then over the turn(s) you are going to do more damage.
With a mixed load (especially VMB/TLD) you are nearly always going to be shooting something on "5s" (except LVs).
Might seem a bit nit-picky, but this is min-maxing we are talking about
(P.S. The reason I wouldn't use a dual load is BECAUSE of the "lack of discount", I like to keep my warhounds cheap so nearly always use the standard load, plus the best dual load would be 2x TLD and that gets way too expensive)
