For those of us that do not have £800+ pounds to spend on a Tau army, I am hoping we can all place our knowledge of what is out there together to make up a Tau army with other 6mm ranges.

I think the hardest thing will be the vehicles.

Let me start with GZG Dirtside Infantry walkers in place of the Tau battlesuits (about AUS$0.83 each)
Specifically 139 & 140

For Kroot, I think DRM Miniatures with their Kraytonians do a good job for a good price

So, any help here?

Many have used the Kraytonian's as Fire Warriors. I think its one of  the command packs that have rectangular guns.

The Kraytonian vehicles would fit the bill as well IMO.

Hmmmm....

I am going to start comparing the list to their minis...

I think firewarriors are fairly easily proxied using EW legionares, DRM Kraytonian bodyguards og possibly some GZG infantry (though I'm not very familiar with their miniatures).

Battlesuits are indeed the tricky part Are the DRM Andrayada dreadnought-thingies too big? Alternatively I'm sure there must be some 10 mm androids that could do the trick.

Also EW Kamikaze droids make decent drone proxies.

As for the vehicles.. uhm. well... I know something I won't tell :p

They look like good proxies, depending on scale. I'd be tempted to convert the weapons a bit to make them look more Tau-like; gluing together multiple bits of cylindrical plast-card rod makes a good multi-barrelled weapon that could be a burst cannon for example (I did this for the scratchbuilt assault cannons I made for my terminators) and this could be glued alongside their arm rather than it being held. Up to you if you wanted to bother or just use them as is though.

And I may have spent silly money with FW, but it wasn't just a Tau army; there was also a Grey Knight army, a load of Ork stuff, some terrain and large amounts of Imperial tanks that can be used for both side's armies of a big Vraks battles.

The DRM walkers are too big. Nearly as big as old style knights.

I think that Ground Zero Games' CGI tanks look Tau-ish.

My friend brought round some jump pack infantry from Battletech which would probably be well suited to battlesuits. Now, if I can find the image... Vermis, any help?

Nope :D

Let's just say that something has been in the works for a while, but given the recent development with FW, suggestions and requests from the community could very well be worked into that project if there's an interest.

Yes, that's right.

You can find them under the 1/300 Future Wars section. GZG's webstore takes a little getting used to. The part number is DF-X02, I think.

What, more stuff for Exodus Wars? What am I going to do with all the money that Tom gives me? Make a pile to roll around in?

Thanks found them. Well at £2.50 for 3 they are certainly an option!

For suits how about some of this heavy gear stuff? Don't know the scale but I believe that's a ~28mm hex base
