I would think that the points costs for each type are dependent on what list there in, the thing we need is to have stats the same in all lists.

85pts? How many ways can you make a round 3k list with that? Frequently it's effectively going to cost more due to wasted points.

85 points is functionally the same as 2 for 175 or 4 for 350 after the "wasted" points, which is the actual goal.  However, 85 points each allows you to buy any number rather than a block so it is more flexible.

The "wasted" points for unusual combinations build in a nice premium to discourage min-maxing.

Perhaps we could word it like that to get the best of both world, so "85 for one, 175 for two"?

Well pretty much most people agree Tornados should be free anyway, so if that happened there'd be no problem.

You're being paranoid.  25 points in a tournament list is not worth sweating over.

In any case, Pulsar has a good point that point costs are up to the army list.  If a champion hates 85 points and wants to make it 2/175, they have the freedom to do so.

Pick some stats and let's get on down the road!

Please just make the call and remove that overpowered Multi-Melta.

Should I edit their stats here to compare to rest?

Start a new thread, with all Land Raiders listed.

Land Raider Redeemer
Armoured Vehicle; Save 4+; Speed 25cm; CC5+; FF5+

FF5+ is a typo, right? 3+?

Those crusader stats are worth over 100 points, certainly well over 85. Losing the MW5+ shot is nowhere near enough to balance them against normal landraiders.

Land Raider Redeemer
Armoured Vehicle; Save 4+; Speed 25cm; CC5+; FF3+
Frag Launchers; (base contact); Assault Weapons
Twin assault cannon; 30cm; AT4+/AP4+
2 x Flamestorm cannon; Range 15cm; AP3+; Ignore Cover
Notes: Reinforced Armour, Thick Rear Armour, Transport (1 Terminator or 2 other)

Redeemer.
1. Should the range be 15 or 30cm on Flamestorm.
2. Should it have 2+ FF.

No offence Hena but I'm buggered if I'm going over all the testing again for the Redeemer, there are enough notes scattered around about it being tested in the past in different configs and what was found to be balanced for what cost. I'll leave a placeholder int he Salamanders list for whatever it is (with the above being worth on past experience maybe 75 points in the Salamander list, maybe a bit less).

Prometheus should be about same cost as regular LR.

That shouldn't be held to as a design goal I feel, its ability is highly army list dependant (try it in a bike and speeder army and see what I mean).

I feel that the Prometheus, even without its Command & Control ability, is already just as good as a stock Land Raider... with the addition of the C&C ability it is clearly superior.

And the current Wh40k version of the Prometheus doesn't even have the C&C ability anymore.

Well it trades the regular 2*AT4+ to 3*AP4+ with shorter range. So it's about there and there. Also that C&C requires a character addition to that specific unit. Overall it depends on the list. Scions has it automatically with SC and I think the cost is about right.

I've been using it as having to have a commander in the same formation. No sense upgrading a tank in an infantry list. (Unless you want to add a Librarian to a redeemer or somesuch.)
The ability is no doubt costed correctly in the scion and sallie lists, but neither of them have an army list that that can abuse it (well I assume the Scion list can't be all fast attack stuff). It would be worth a lot more in the standard or BA list.
