Update:

Changed Front (might add some details) - is this more pleasing to the eye?

Looking good though the regular vision slits would be nice also. Judging from some of Otterman's models you might want to exaggerate the recesses on the hatch a little to make it easier to print and paint :)

Much better.

I still recommend grabbing a 40k rhino though as the proportions do look off.

i think true scale would help "the cause" more as it could be added to the community portfolio for FW's consideration.

Indeed.

That's a good reason to try upgrading the detail on the tank treads too incidentally, as you'd have to at least match FW's Rhino (Which has detailed treads).

Anyone got a comparison pic of the FW and SG 6mm rhinos?

What's wrong with the newest Specialist Games Rhino?

apart from the horrid flash and mould lines in the recesses one ach side, nothing is wrong with it. I really love my rhinos (nashorns) but the STC was completely melted when it came to reproductions

D.

Yes, all my SG E:A Rhinos are that way ...  G/W US told me there was a problem with the mold and they all looked that way ...

Hey mate,

Fantastic stuff to date, smashing job. My two cents would be to change what you have done on the rear ramp and make it a whole ramp affair as opposed to the small displaced symbol to the top left. I think you did a great job on the top detail and maybe you could replicate the arrows on the sides as well.

Cheers
Aaron

I was busy last night and didn't get a chance to take that side-by-side photo, sorry! I'm working late tonight but will do it when I'm home; so it will be posted late today.

Definitely looks better with the vision slits! :agree:

Hey, at least you haven't had to buy a Warhound Titan for reference.  :))

I've bought a 40k Chaos Rhino / Predator Kit. First measurements told me: the first version was already quite good (using a 1:5 ratio), only on some parts around 0.3 - 0.8 mm off. Cannot see up to now why the Specialist Games version should be "off the scale". I'll measure in detail and adapt the model ...

The difference is indeed not all that much. I only really realised when I put a acquired a FW rhino next to a SG one, from my inexact memory the FW seemed to be around 1.5-2mm wider maybe and possibly the tiniest fraction taller.

I don't have a W40k Rhino to measure myself, but the FW epic versions are normally good 1/5 translations. I'll post a picture tonight anyway.
